Resident Evil Requiem has unique idle animations for each weapon

Resident Evil Requiem is full of fun easter eggs and references. From Leon getting married to hints about the next game in the series, there's a lot for fans to find. There are also things you'll probably never solve on your own, like the game's overcomplicated final puzzle.

However, there are some details that you will probably never see. While standing idle in the game is a good way to get bitten by zombies, doing so in one of the safe rooms reveals a fun little detail. If Grace or Leon is standing still in one of the rooms, an idle weapon loading animation will start.

Even Leon's reloads are overkill

As Suzi Hunter noted on Twitter, a rather flashy reload animation plays when you're not moving in one of the safe rooms. Some fluid motion shows one of them unloading a clip and even popping the one in the chamber in style. Even though it seems perfectly normal for Leon, it's kind of funny to watch Grace do it.

In fact, every weapon seems to have a unique reload animation, including the Grace pistol, the Requiem, and even the auto pistol. But don't worry, Leon or Grace will automatically reload the weapon once you exit the safe room. It would be an absolute troll on Capcom's part if they unloaded the weapon while you were gone and then found themselves in hot water.

Why is there an animation like this where you spend the least amount of time? Well, you'll have to ask Capcom about that. The movements look quite smooth and benign, so it's puzzling to hide them under several layers like this. Maybe a better use of these animations would be a 'tactical reload' modifier for the new game plus?

The level of detail in Resident Evil Requiem is frankly astounding. For example, there is a very easy way to kill Chunk if you pay attention to the notes found in The Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center.
