Crimson Desert Cracked by Pirates

In the end, Pearl Abyss' decision to add Denuvo's anti-tamper technology to Crimson Desert just days before its highly anticipated release seems to have been a no-brainer.

Because even with Denuvo, the crimson desert was broken by pirates. However, its ability to be shared by pirates and downloaded endlessly is not as simple as it sounds, at least compared to other cracked video games.

For starters, Crimson Desert has been cracked using the Hypervisor method, a new piracy technique that has recently become widespread as it allows previously locked titles like Borderlands 4 and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth to become available to pirates.

He is angry about the security vulnerabilities that have been exposed to users. But it seems most are willing to take the risk if it means being able to play the latest title for free. It's worth noting that some security risks have been minimized in recent versions, but some aren't quite sold on the give-and-take setup.

“The newer version is supposed to be more secure, but still hold your horses unless you have a spare machine to run it on. Just in case,” warned one user on Reddit.

Perhaps most notable is the fact that it took about a day for the crack to become available. And that's with the need to keep track of the newer Denuvo checks that were recently added to the latest version of the controversial software.

That Crimson Desert managed to crack, although some have a problem with labeling it as a crack vs. bypass, is just one of several advancements in the hacking community.

Over a week ago, Doom: The Dark Ages was cracked by votes3, becoming the first title of 2025 to have Denuvo directly cracked by pirates. voices38 is one of the most prolific members of the pirate community, and their work on the ability to crack Denuvo-powered titles has made waves in recent months.

As the battle against Denuvo continues, it's unclear what the company plans to do next. If the software ends up not working as intended and paid for by the publisher, it may end up being discontinued, making the games even more open to piracy.
