The first battle between Imu and Elbaf's strongest duo was rather surprising. Most fans expected Imu to last longer in a battle against these two. In fact, Imu was even expected to be able to Domi turn one of them and turn them against the other. While Imu attempted this in One Piece Chapter 1178, he apparently failed, and before they could even use any other power, Imu was crushed by Luffy and then frozen by Loki.
Moments later, Imu's shadow was completely cleared from Gunk's body, showing that the duo had successfully pushed Imu away for good. However, it must be remembered that this defeat came in the body of a Gunk, and that body probably greatly limited the power they could put out. The biggest shock of the chapter came at the end, when Imu personally went to fight in Elbaf.

At the end of One Piece Chapter 1178, Imu clearly mentioned to the Five Elders that he would be leaving the Holy Land for a short time. Why Imu must win the battle against Luffy and Loki
Since the most exciting battle in all of One Piece starts in chapter 1179, it has to be recognized that Imu has to win the upcoming fight because it is too soon for the main villain of the series to fall. The Great War has not yet begun, and the battle against the Sky Dragons must continue for a long time. It makes absolutely no sense for the king to fall here, which leaves only one way for this fight to end, and that is to defeat Luffy and Loki.
