Dead by Daylight reveals new Jason Voorhees gameplay details

Developer Behavior Interactive has just shared the first details of the game Dead by Daylightanother DLC Killer, Friday the 13this Jason Voorhees. Jason Voorhees is about to join Dead by DaylightAn ever-growing list on June 16th, though Behavior has confirmed that it will be playable in the game's public test build on Steam starting May 26th.

He made his debut in 1980 with the iconic slasher film written by Victor Miller and directed by Sean S. Cunningham. Dead by Daylight Jason Voorhees will bring a “stunning mix of mystery, horror and brutality”

Jason Voorhees is headed there Dead by Daylight On June 16, as the shining star of the game's 49th paid DLC chapter. While Jason was beaten to the starting line by other horror icons like Leatherface, Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, Jigsaw, Pinhead, Chucky and many more, it's not for lack of effort on Behavior Interactive's part. From Dead by DaylightLaunching the game 10 years ago, its developers repeatedly tried to get Jason into an asymmetrical horror game. Behavioral Chief Creative Officer Dave Richard had this to say about the ultimate achievement of this ten-year goal:

“There was never any question that our 10th anniversary chapter couldn't just be big – it had to be something really special. When we started to see a path to finally make this partnership a reality for our 10th anniversary, we knew the perfect Jason moment had arrived. We're just thrilled that the stars aligned and we were able to work with the great people of the Jason Universe on such miles for our Daylight players.”

According to the official press release Dead by DaylightJason Voorhees will deliver a “chilling mix of stealth, horror and brutality.” He achieves this through two main killer powers, the first of which is called 'Ubiquitous Evil'. Activating Omnipresent Evil causes Jason to completely disappear from the map, leaving his whereabouts visible to Survivors only as a faint red mist. Even though Jason is invisible, he can track survivors using visual clues such as footprints. When Jason is ready to respawn, he simply needs to target a key area of the environment, such as a pallet or a breakable wall, and press the button again. Respawn destroys breakable obstacles and triggers a scream from any nearby survivors, revealing their location briefly.

The second from Jason Voorhees Dead by Daylight Killer Powers is called 'Improvised Carnage'. When the Survivors face off against Jason, they will see special containers spread across the map. These containers are filled with broken generator parts, warped grappling hooks, and a variety of other makeshift projectiles that Jason can pick up and hurl at his prey with unrelenting force. Hitting a survivor with one of these projectiles will knock them back, but if they're hit next to a wall, they'll be pinned to it.

The Jason Collection

Dead by DaylightJason Voorhees arrives on June 16, along with a handful of paid cosmetics. The “Jason Collection” pack will include at least three additional outfits for Jason, namely the Backwoods Terror costume, the Death Forsaken outfit, and the Depths of Despair skin, all three of which give the iconic slasher villain a distinct, thematic makeover.
