The first Hokage of Konoha, Hashirama Senju, was an absolute monster, considered one of the strongest shinobi in history. Although Hashirama was incredibly powerful, he was not the strongest. With each generation new powerful ninjas began to emerge and many of them made it further levels that far surpassed those of Hashirama Senju. Until the end Naruto series, Kishimoto has created an immensely powerful group of characters, all of whom have left the First Hokage in the dust and reached godlike levels of power in one way or another.
Naruto: 32 strongest characters in the series
These Naruto characters are the strongest individuals in the series.

Obito Uchiha
Obito Uchiha he was an incredibly powerful member of the Uchiha clan who had immense power up his sleeve. He was a late bloomer and only awakened his full power in the Third Great Ninja War. After being trained by Madara himself, Obito attained immense power, but his powers reached a whole new level in the Fourth Great Ninja War where he became the Jinchuriki of the Ten Tails.
Upon reaching this level, Hashirama openly exclaimed that he was inferior to Obito in terms of overall strength. It took the combined efforts of the entire Shinobi Alliance to defeat Obito, and even that was only possible due to his reluctance to fight them. With the power of the Six Paths Senjutsu and an arsenal of weapons that could destroy the world, Obito was practically no match in this state.

Might Guy
Might Guy he is one of the strongest ninjas to exist in the world of naruto and his true powers were not revealed until the fourth great ninja war where he fully harnessed the power of the eight inner gates. By opening the Gate of Death, Might Guy reached a level where he could even overpower Madara Uchiha in combat. In fact, a single blow from Guy would be enough to deal fatal damage to Hashirama Senju.
His most powerful attack, Night Guy, was great enough to see him nearly kill Madara Uchiha, who only survived the blow thanks to the immortality that came with becoming the Ten-Tails Jinchuriki. If it weren't for the regenerative powers, Madara would have easily died. The fact that Madara even claimed him as the strongest he had fought over the years clearly means that he was above Hashirama in terms of overall skill.
5
Rock Lee
Rock Lee he is quite similar to Might Guy in terms of how he fights. While his true peak was never shown in the series, it was officially stated that Lee can now open all Eight Inner Gates. In addition, he surpassed Might Guy in terms of Taijutsu. This means that Lee is an even stronger shinobi than Guy, and should be even stronger with the Eight Inner Gates at his peak.
Lee should be able to deal devastating damage even to a Ten-Tails level enemy. While Hashirama is strong, he has no defense against such monstrous strength and is clearly inferior to this level of strength.

Madara Uchiha
Madara Uchiha was Hashirama's rival and equal in many ways. He sought to surpass Hashirama and establish himself at the pinnacle of the era, but was only able to do so after awakening the Rinnegan. In the Fourth Great Ninja War, Madara took his powers a step further by becoming the Jinchuriki of the Ten-Tails, and when he did, he was far above Hashirama's level.
He gained the power of immortality and on top of that the Six Paths Senjutsu, making him basically impossible to defeat for the vast majority. His jutsu could end the entire planet and not even all the Kage combined could fight him. Madara was in a league of his own in the Fourth Great Ninja War until Black Zetsu took him down to bring back Kaguya Otsutsuki. Regardless, he was much stronger than his rival Hashirama.
Naruto: 6 Villains Stronger Than Akatsuki
The Akatsuki were powerful, but they were far from the most powerful villains in the Naruto series.
3
Kakashi Hatake
Kakashi Hatake he was always known as an incredibly talented ninja even when he was very young. However, his true powers were not revealed until the Fourth Great Ninja War, where he temporarily acquired the Powers of the Six Paths from Obito Uchiha. During this short stint, Kakashi was able to reach extremely high levels of power. In fact, he could even rival Kaguya Otsutsuki in terms of strength and dealt her deadly blows that she had a hard time recovering from.
Without Kakashi, sealing Kaguya wouldn't be possible. Of course, this power was only temporary for him, but he still surpassed even Hashirama Senju in terms of overall power at this particular moment. It is unfortunate that after this battle, Kakashi's six path powers were lost forever.

Sasuke Uchiha
Sasuke Uchiha he went on to reach god-level power in the Fourth Great Ninja War. Not only did he awaken the power of the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, but he also went on to attain the Rinnegan after meeting the Sage of the Six Paths, Hagoromo Otsutsuki. After receiving half of his chakra, Sasuke's left eye transformed into a Rinnegan and this gave him enough power to not only match but overpower Ten-Tails Madara. Sasuke could easily cut him in half and effectively counter all of his jutsu.
Later, when Kaguya Otsutsuki arrived, Sasuke matched her on numerous occasions in battle, showing an incredible level of strength. As an adult, Sasuke grew even stronger to the point where he could quite easily match other Otsutsuki such as Momoshiki and Kinshiki. It goes without saying that Sasuke is much stronger than Hashirama Senju in battle and that his overall strength is unmatched by most.

Naruto Uzumaki
The strongest ninja to appear in the Naruto series is undoubtedly the Seventh Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki. Naruto was born with the power of the Nine-Tails, but only fully mastered it in the Fourth Great Ninja War. In this war, he also met the Sage of Six Paths, who granted him half of his powers, allowing him to use the Six Paths Senjutsu. Combining it with the Nine Tailed Beasts chakra, Naruto proceeded to awaken the Six Paths Sage Mode, and this gave him enough power to rival not only Madara Uchiha, but Kaguya Otsutsuki as well.
Naruto had attained a power that far surpassed that of Hashirama Senju, and it goes without saying that his overall power level was greater than any Hokage that had ever existed in history. He continued to grow over the years, and by the time he became Hokage, he was arguably the strongest ninja to exist in history. As an adult, Naruto attained even greater power when he harnessed the power of Baryon Mode and was able to overpower even Isshiki Otsutsuki, cementing himself as a god among ninja. Unfortunately, Naruto has remained sealed away ever since, but his return is closer with each passing chapter in Boruto.
