Netflix just provided an update for the next installment of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run. After a well-received first episode, Netflix left JoJo fans in the dark about a second episode or the second phase of the Steel Ball Run. We now know that the streaming platform plans to release the next episode in the fall of 2026, with subsequent episodes dropping each week.
After a great first episode, fans went radio silent as no new episode aired the following week. There was no update from Netflix either, leading to fans getting angry and spamming the streamer's social media posts with creepy Johnny Joestar memes. We finally have clarity on the release schedule for the series.
The second phase of the steel ball run is coming up in fall 2026
In a recent tweet, Netflix revealed that the series will be moving to a regular weekly episode format, rather than longer episodes with more time in between. It's evident that fans weren't happy with the previous formula, and it's good to see Netflix go with a regular format after the backlash.
“Thank you for all the incredible support for STEEL BALL RUN JoJo's Bizarre Adventure,” the tweet said. “The series is currently in production and will be enjoyed by everyone. We plan to release split courses for the entire series of episodes. The next course (PHASE 2) will begin airing in Fall 2026 on Netflix, with one new episode released each week.
“This release schedule is part of our original plan and reflects the wishes of the production committee. Your passion and enthusiasm means a lot to everyone involved. We appreciate your patience and continued support as we work to bring you STAGE 2.”
It is still unclear if this will be the plan for the rest of the series or just for the second phase. Fans weren't too receptive to the update either, as the comments were filled with more Johnny Joestar memes and questions about the rest of the series. Even Netflix seems unsure of a release schedule after that.
