Shonen Jump entered a bit of a slump after the closure of Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia. The two helped Shonen Jump reach new levels to become even more popular.
Both JJK and My Hero Academia has sold over 100 million copies, a feat only a handful of other manga have ever accomplished. So Shueisha is looking for a new manga that can help fill the void. One of the manga to be a potential replacement is Kagurabachi.
Shonen Jump has officially found a new big three
After One Piece, Naruto and Bleach, it's time to welcome the new Weekly Shonen Jump Big Three.
Shonen Jump's Teasing Kagurabachi Anime Announcement
On April 10, Shonen Jump shared a new trailer visual that featured five unique items:
-
Hawk
-
Bullets
-
Grimoire
-
Goldfish
-
Ring necklace
Each of the items represents a specific anime. For example, the Grimoire is from Black Clover and the ring necklace probably belongs to Yuta Okkotsu, a character from Jujutsu Kaisen. Similarly, Kagurabachi goldfish.
Jujutsu Kaisen and Black Clover have already been confirmed to return with new anime projects, so it's safe to say that Goldfish's presence indicates that an anime announcement is on the way.
An anime adaptation for Kagurabachi has yet to be announced, but it's about time Shonen Jump did so. The Kagurabachi manga is popular but has yet to reach the same level of fame as Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia.
An anime adaptation could turn out to be extremely beneficial, especially since it greatly benefits the fame of the manga.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Part 2 could announce a new update
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Part 1 already ended in March 2026 and it was one of the best projects MAPPA has ever worked on. While the first part has just ended, fans are already anxious to know when the second part will be released. Most rumors suggest that the next Jujutsu Kaisen episode will air in 2027, but there is no official confirmation yet. Hopefully that will change at Shonen Jump Showcase. The new JJK volume will cover the rest of the Culling Game, which will feature many more incredible fights.
Aside from JJK, Shonen Jump Showcase will also make an announcement regarding Black Clover. In 2025, it was confirmed that the Black Clover anime would return, but the exact release date was not shared with the audience. So hopefully there will be an update on Showcase.
Kagurabachi is available to read on Shonen Jump+.
