AND Bloody The film is officially working with Sony Pictures, which is a surprising direction for the franchise, but it's not even the most surprising aspect of the upcoming film. Indeed, with everything around Bloody IP, a movie announcement comes out of the left field.
Bloody has made headlines several times in the past few weeks and months due to its pseudo-connection with Bluepoint Games, fan demand for a remake, and the annual Return to Yharnam event. The big picture is simple: many, many fans have wanted proper remasters/remakes/updates for a long time Bloody on PS5. Bloody developer FromSoftware is incredibly busy, so fans have long hoped that Bluepoint will take on the project. When PlayStation shut down Bluepoint Games in March, fans believed it Bloody the journey was completely over.

Bloodborne Animated Movie Announced, JackSepticEye attached
Now they seem to change shapes like in a black horror movie. Sanford Panitch, president of Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group, announced R-Rated, an animated feature film for Bloody at CinemaCon. Panitch also said the film will stay “very true” to the film's twisted, gory spirit Bloodyas well as twisted, Lovecraftian depictions of Yharnam. It remains to be seen what that will look like, but several names are already attached to the project — as Variety first reported.
The film is co-produced by PlayStation Productions, Lyrical Animation and – perhaps most surprisingly – content creator Sean McLoughlin, who you may know better as JackSepticEye. Big fan BloodyJackSepticEye has also applied his acting and content creation skills beyond his streaming career, including several appearances as himself, the role of Punch Up in Send, and various roles in film and television. His most recent appearance is the character of Jack in Markiplier's play Iron lungs film adaptation.
It's not surprising that this announcement comes so soon after the release Galaxy Super Mario film, though the connection is tenuous and coincidental at best. Video game adaptations brought in big numbers at the box office Super Mario Bros. Movie strike it big before it continues and Minecraft a film that attracts a lot of attention. Sony and PlayStation Productions are also working on a film adaptation Helldiverswhile other films like The Legend of Zelda are on the horizon.

While recent game adaptations have been incredibly popular, it remains to be seen how Bloody is accepted. It's not a remaster, a PS5 60fps update, or a sequel. It's unclear if FromSoftware is involved, though it seems likely given the respectful relationship between FromSoftware and PlayStation. Perhaps the film serves as a catalyst for expansion Bloody IP. Finally, Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group has signaled its growing confidence in game-to-film adaptations, even for complex IPs like Bloodborne. Whether it lives up to the expectations of FromSoftware's cult classic or instead reinterprets its nightmarish logic for a new medium, it underscores how PlayStation Productions is expanding its transmedia strategy.
