Genshin Impact officially reveals Lohen's release date

Genshin Impact has officially kicked off drip marketing for Lohen and confirmed a June 10 release date for the 5-Star Cryo Polearm. Genshin Impact the update brings the conclusion of some important storylines for both Sumera and Nod-Krai, but most notably, it also introduces three new characters to the playable roster: Nicole, Lohen, and Prune. All three are members of Hexerei, and Lohen in particular has been praised for her fun playstyle.

While Nicole v Genshin Impact Expected to be a 5-star Pyro Catalyst that provides strong buffs, shield and coordinated attacks, Lohen is the opposite – a pure hypercarry that works best on Hexerei teams. His skill set revolves around filling up his normal and charged Cryo attacks and then generating separate stacks by dealing personal damage and dealing damage to teammates. Personal stacks unlock a special Elemental Skill with a potency that changes with the number of teammates' stacks. This makes Durin his best teammate by far, but Xiangling is a notable (and cheaper) alternative if Lohen is paired with another Hexerei character.

Genshin Impact officially reveals Nicole's release date

In a new post, Genshin Impact reveals Nicole, the upcoming 5-star Pyro Catalyst, which sets the release date and reveals new lore.

Genshin Impact: Lohen goes live on June 10th

Drip marketing for Lohen was released the day after Nicole's on social media and effectively reveals his release date as June 10, 2026. He will accompany Mavuik on event banners during the second half of 6.6, while Nicole and Durin will appear in the first half. Genshin Impact. Since Prune was announced on the same day as Lohen, precedent suggests that he will be one of the 4-star characters on his debut banner. However, Genshin Impact players can wait until the next special program announcement for official confirmation on the 4-star Anemo Catalyst.

In terms of lore, Lohen is the deputy captain in the Knights of Favonius, specifically belonging to the Fifth Company, which specializes in ranged combat. Ironically, Lohen himself prefers to be a frontline fighter and has been compared to Tartaglia Genshin Impact for a shared love of battle. He uses a polearm and a dagger as part of his ability set, with the latter coming out during his Elemental Burst. Drip marketing paints Lohen as a suave gentleman, but that couldn't be further from the truth.

From a gaming perspective, there's a reason people are excited. Lohen is rumored to be the next addition to the Standard Banner in Genshin Impactand both leaks and datamining do not contradict it yet. If he ends up on a standard banner, he becomes a 5-star character that players will have no problem losing to in a 50:50. Much like Tighnari was for the Sumer era, Lohen promises a competitive set with a modern playstyle and a fair amount of freedom when it comes to building a team around him.

That being said, players should keep one thing in mind: a 50:50 loss after v6.6 may yield Lohen, but his signature weapon will not return until the next Mondstadt Chronicled Banner in Genshin Impact. For those who want a more complete version of Lohen, it may be wise to wish for the Weapon Banner instead and either select Lohen via the Standard Banner or via the Anniversary Selector in September 2026. Version 6.6 is scheduled to launch on May 20, 2026.
