The 10 Worst Pokemon Champions Players Should Never Use

List of creatures available for use in Pokemon Champions features some of the best competitive picks in the series, such as Incineroar, Sneasler, and Garchomp. In addition to these VGC powers, Pokemon Champions has almost the same number of practically useless Pokemon. While building the ideal team to climb the competitive ladder Pokemon Champions players will want to avoid these creatures.

Worst Pokemon for singles in Pokemon Champions

Rotom

Rotom may seem like an unexpected creature that ranks among the worst Pokemon Championsgiven how prominent it is on some of the best Pokemon Champions teams. However, when Rotom is not in one of its device forms, it is woefully inadequate. Appliance-less Rotom has 80 fewer points in its base stat total and doesn't get nearly as useful coverage-type moves as Wash Rotom or Heat Rotom do.

Cast form

Despite the teams strong weather Pokemon Championsweather mascot moves in Pokemon series is pretty terrible for competitive battles. Castform doesn't excel in any stat, it has 70 points in all stats, and its utility as a weather determiner is far better than other mons with drought, drizzle, or snow warning abilities like Mega Froslas. Paldean Tauros (fighting breed)

Paldean Tauros have three different forms: Blaze Breed, Aqua Breed and Combat Breed. While Blaze and Aqua Breed Paldean Tauros can be useful for their Fire/Fighting and Water/Fighting types, Combat Breed Tauros are pure fighting types. Even if the Combat Breed Paldeaon Tauros gains the Intimidate Ability, there is almost no situation where a pure combat breed of the combat type would be better than one of the other two breed types.

Watcher

As an insufficiently pure Normal-type Pokémon, Watchog has very few situations in which it can carve out a competitive niche. Although Analytic Ability can take advantage of its average speed stat and give its attacks a 30% damage boost if it goes last, it doesn't have enough room for many offensive sweepers to survive, especially in a Singles format dominated by fast, physical attackers like Garchomp.

Simisage

Gen 5 Elemental Monkeys are often considered to be some of the worst Pokémon in the entire franchise, and Simisage lives up to that reputation in Pokemon Champions. His only saving grace is a decent speed stat of 101 and access to Fake Out. Unfortunately, there are many better options for Grass-Type Pokemon like Mega Meganium and Fake Out users like Incineroar or Sneasler.

Galarian Stunfisk

While Galarian Stunfisk isn't exactly terrible in competitive Double Battles, it needs a lot of help to be usable. Galarian Stunfisk's Mimicry Ability requires a terrain setting, something that is largely lacking at the moment. Pokemon Champions meta and his incredibly low speed means he'll need an active Trick Room to have any chance of shifting. Despite being immune to both Poison and Electric-Type attacks, a creature like Excadrill is a much better Ground/Steel-Type than Galarian Stunfisk.

Samurott

Samurott is in the unfortunate position of having a poorly optimized stat spread while also being a pure water type, the most common type in all Pokemon. Most of Samurotta's best competitive moves, such as Flip Turn and Knock Off, are physical attacks, while his highest stat is his special attack. There is no situation where a water-type pokemon like Milotic or Primarina isn't a better choice for a doubles team than Samurott.

Hisuian Samurott has decent utility with access to a STAB Dark-Type attack, Ceaseless Edge that also dispels Spikes on the opponent's side of the field, and better stat dispersal that gives him higher base speed and physical attack than his Unovan form.

Gourgeist

While somewhat usable, Gourgeist has an unfortunate mechanic regarding its size that can hinder its use in competitive environments. Pokemon battles. Gourgeist can be found in four different sizes: Small, Medium, Large, and Jumbo, each with a slightly different stat distribution. Jumbo Gourgeist is the only one potentially worth using Pokemon Championsas it trades speed for a higher Attack and HP stat, making it useful in the Trick Room. Other forms of Gourgeist do not have the same utility and should be avoided.

Slurpuff

Fairy-Type is quite strong Pokemon Championsbut Slurpuff is one of the worst options among the type. Slurpuff doesn't really excel in any particular state, and only has real utility as a somewhat bulky support Pokemon that can use Wish to heal its partner and Fake Tears to lower an opponent's Special Defense. Other Fairy-Types like Mega Floette, Mega Gardevoir or Sylveon are much more useful for players who want to bring probably the strongest. Pokemon battle type.

Simisar

Like Simisage, Simisear lives up to its reputation as one of the worst Pokémon in the entire franchise. None of the Gen 5 elemental monkeys are worth using Pokemon Championsbut Simisear is a particularly bad choice because of how many strong Fire-Type Pokemon dominate the Doubles meta. Mega Charizard Y, Incineroar, Torkoal, and Hisuian Arcanine are much better options, meaning there will never be a situation where Simisear is the preferred option.
