A huge amount every year the games will closeand 2026 is far from an exception. As part of a VR scene, Rec Room it seemed like the type of game that would last forever, something like that Minecraft or Roblox. However, the decade ended “for good” as the developer confirmed that the platform will be completely shut down on June 1st. This date is preceded by about a month of preparations, which will gradually remove some functions, such as the ability to buy or earn tokens. Why is this happening?
Despite this popularity, we never figured out how to make Rec Room a sustainably profitable business. Our expenses have always exceeded the revenue we brought in.
This statement shows that even the cornerstones are not safe from closure, and the game may not be as mainstream and commercially viable as it appears from an outsider's perspective. Rec Room is a place that allows players to unleash their inner creativity, and it will be missed.
Blade & Soul Heroes will shut down on June 16, 2026
A short life that lasted less than a year
While Rec Room spent decades integrating into people's lives, Blade & Soul Heroes they never seemed to be able to reach that point. The MMORPG, which launched in September 2025, got off to a pretty poor start on Steam, failing to crack 2K concurrent players in its first month. Mobile Elder Scrolls has been on steam for a long time
I'm not counting expansions or remasters, The Elder Scrolls: Blades was the only new game in the franchise in a decade, and it will soon be discontinued entirely. Come out on, well, a terrible income, Blades improved somewhat after this point and eventually became an OK mobile mix Skyrim a Arena which follows a free-to-play model. This mostly single-player experience combines a short story, dungeon quests, and city management along with plenty of microtransactions.

A spin-off that is better known worldwide than its parent series, Shadowverse was and still is an important release in the realm of digital card games, and its “Evolution” mechanic truly changed the genre. Along with revolutionary mechanics, Shadowverse spent the last decade spinning a story driven by several beloved characters like Arisa and Luna. Cygames put a definitive end to the story mode with “Whispers of Purgation: Last Words,” which provides some closure, though the series will live on in other games.
Although the original Shadowverse will end after ten years, its legacy will continue through Shadowverse: Evolve and its direct successor, Shadowers: Worlds Beyond.
Shadowverse is undoubtedly the greatest ending the game in 2026and any die-hard fan who wants to finish the story should do so while they have the chance. It's worth the effort.
Apex Legends will end its Switch version on August 4, 2026
Season 29 will be the last on the Switch
As we saw earlier this year with Genshin Impact After shutting down the PS4 version, it is sometimes impossible to keep the game alive on outdated platforms. Apex Legends will be around for years to come, including the Nintendo Switch 2; however, this console's predecessor will no longer include EA's free game after August 4, 2026. Progress won't be lost because it's tied to an EA account, and players can use premium currency on Switch 2.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite will end its Switch version on August 5, 2026

Well, it's happening. When cloud versions of Switch games were announced, everyone had the same thought: How long will it last? The answer is obviously “it depends on the game.” For Aliens: Fireteam Elitewill take just over three years, with the multiplayer shooter launching for Switch on April 26, 2023.

LET IT DIE will end its nine-year run online and go offline. Once the offline version is released, you can enjoy Tower of Barbs as you like without any restrictions.
Bridge Let It Die has been around for ten years and has amassed a respectable fan base in that time. A hack-and-slash roguelite, this loop involves clearing tower levels while collecting new weapons and armor. Although it integrates quite a few multiplayer elements, Let It Die it doesn't really depend on them and can easily be enjoyed as a primarily single player experience. Assuming an offline version comes out, this ending will hopefully just be a new beginning.
