This Pokemon Champions Mega Evolution beats most of the Meta by itself

One of the main advantages Pokemon Legends: ZA was that it added tons of new Mega Evolutions for players to discover and enjoy, and a wave of hype followed the release Pokemon Champions. This is because the new Mega Evolutions v Pokemon Legends: ZA they didn't get a core part of their set because the game didn't support abilities. This means that each new Mega was only half as much, so to speak, but some of them were available with Pokemon Champions' startup. Unfortunately, not all Megas got a good ability, and in fact some of them didn't.

An example is No Guard on Mega Hawlucha, which is pretty terrible on its own for this specific Pokemon, but at least it allowed for some fun tricks when Pokemon Champions came out. For those out of the loop, Entrainment gives the next Pokemon a user ability and No Guard ensures that all outgoing and incoming attacks never miss, meaning Mega Hawlucha was used to teach No Guard to Pokemon using OHKO moves like Fissure and Sheer Cold. Despite having a middling ability that doesn't greatly improve his playstyle, one of the best new Megas is actually Mega Delphox and can beat most of the meta unaided.

One of the best mega evolutions of Pokémon Champions is already clear

Mega Delphox's ability is Levitate, making it immune to Earth-type moves. While nice, it's not quite as good as it seems, at least in the current state of the game because Pokemon ChampionsSand teams and Aerodactyl as a leader all rely on Rock Slide to deal massive damage to Fire-type and other-type Pokémon, possibly causing them to flinch and miss the move as well. So what makes Mega Delphox so good isn't its ability, but rather the fact that it's the single fastest Pokemon in the game, aside from a few less used ones. The list is:

1. Mega Alakazam & Mega Aerodactyl — 150 base speed

2. Mega Beedrill — 145 base speed

3. Mega Greninja & Dragapult — 142 base speed

4. Mega Manectric & Mega Lopunny — 135 base speed

5. Mega Delphox — 134 base speed

How Mega Delphox battles the best Pokémon Champion teams

Since according to the pokebase.app tournament database, all of these Pokémon have a 0.5% usage rate or less, except for Dragapult which has 3.2%, just like Mega Delphox, it is very rare that they will be used and outspeed your Mega Delphox. As such, Mega Delphox can take care of some of the best Pokemon Pokemon Champions separately, such as:

• Venusaur with heat wave, overheating or psyche
• Sneasler with psychic type movements
• Kingambit with heat wave or overheating
• Sinistha with heat wave or overheating
• Whimsicott with heat wave or overheating
• Aegislash with heat wave or overheating
• Garchomp with Dazzling Gleam
• Corviknight with heat wave or overheating
• Mega Dragonite with Dazzling Gleam
• Mega Gengar with Psychic
• Mega Froslas with heat wave or overheating
• Excadrill with heat wave or overheating
• Mega Meganium with heat wave or overheating

These are examples and actual damage may vary depending on in-game conditions such as weather, conflicting stats, missing turns, and so on. However, with its high speed and great special attack, Mega Delphox can be an absolute menace on the field, especially if supported well. Helping Hand Torkoal means that, for example, Heat Wave Mega Delphox hits for double damage, while Choice Scarf Heliolisk can lead with Shed Tail and give Delphox a free replacement to take damage for him. Pokemon ChampionsAerodactyl alone is a good partner as it can set up Tailwind or hit enemies with Rock Slide after Mega Delphox's Heat Wave for a massive damage spread.

It follows that while Mega Delphox is fallible, it can be a huge threat to the most common picks in the game. Yes, Pokemon ChampionsRain teams will be problematic for Mega Delphox, but this is where the extra five slots in your team come in handy. You can tailor your team around Mega Delphox to help him do what he does best – overrun opponents and deal massive damage, or at the same time use Protect to survive and Encore to block opponents on bad moves like Protect alone, Tailwind, Trick Room and so on. I'm not saying this Fire/Psychic Pokemon is the be all, be all Pokemon Championsbut it's hard to argue that it doesn't pull its weight and then some in most matches.
