'We're blown Away' Hades 2 Dev Comments on an incredible mod created by a user

Hades 2 developer Supergiant Games praised the fan-made mod, Zagreus' Journey, recently released for the PC version of the game. Hades 2 has been a huge success for Supergiant Games since its release in September 2025, especially on PC and Steam, where it currently holds an average rating of “Overwhelmingly Positive”.

First Hades the game was also an award-winning hit, winning several prestigious awards, including Best Indie and Best Action Game at The Game Awards 2020. Now, the Zagreus' Journey mod, which caught the attention of Supergiant Games and fans alike, builds on the popularity of both games. Hades titles that offer hours of new gameplay.

Zagreus' Journey is the Collision of the Two Hades Games

Sharing the mod's 1.0 launch trailer, Supergiant Games expressed surprise at how good the fan-made content looks and encouraged fans to check it out. “We're excited about this user-made mod,” the developer wrote. Developed by NikkelM, Hades 2 mod allows players to experience the first game's campaign as Melinoe, the main character of the game Hades 2. It effectively blends the settings, biomes, enemies and encounters of the original game with the weapons, abilities and skills of the sequel.

According to the developer, “Zagreus' Journey […] adds to the sequel the original path that Zagreus took through Tartarus, Asphodel, Elysium and the Temple of Styx in the first game.” The mod also introduces new encounters and spells, prophecies, cosmetics, and Chaos Trials.

Zagreus' Journey has been downloaded more than 10,000 times so far, and fans praise its creativity. One of the most common compliments is how the mod expands the replayability of the other game and adds a whole new way to experience Hades 2 story. “This is so well done I thought it was official,” one fan commented, while another added: “I hope the devs see this and contact you to make it official DLC.” The developers have now actually seen this mod and have only shared kind words about it.

One thing players should keep in mind is that Zagreus' Journey requires both Hades games to be installed on the same device. They can be purchased in separate stores, but the first game must remain unmodded, as Zagreus' Journey relies on its original files to run internally. Hades 2.
