How Cluemaster Puzzles Work
Each Cluemaster puzzle will be awarded a Cluemaster Puzzle Box when solved. These puzzles require players to match symbols, create codes by stopping tumblers, redirect energy flowing through wires, and more, and you'll need to use every playable character if you hope to solve them all.
In particular, you can reveal the location of Cluemaster Puzzles by activating district towers. However, once you activate the tower, you may not see all the Cluemaster puzzles on the map, as some are inside puzzle rooms that are not accessible until you complete a certain number of puzzles or puzzle rooms. If you are missing a Cluemaster puzzle in a district and it is not shown on the map, work on puzzles in other districts until it appears.
Do Towers Reveal Cluemaster Puzzles?
Yesdistrict towers reveal Cluemaster Puzzle icons on the map along with additional collector and activity icons. This makes Cluemaster puzzles easier to find than hidden collectibles like bat symbols, but it's still up to you to solve them.

Need specific characters for Cluemaster puzzles?
Yessome Cluemaster Puzzles require specific characters and props. While many of the puzzles can be solved by any character, you'll eventually need to use character-specific gadgets and tools like Robin's staff, Nightwing's electric cable launcher, Batgirl's Hackarang, Batman's Batclaw, and Jim Gordon's foam sprayer to work on them.
If you get to a Cluemaster Puzzle and can't complete it, the problem may be that you don't have the character you need unlocked yet and you need to continue the story and come back later. For unlock timings, see our How to Unlock All Playable Characters guide.
How to unlock Cluemaster Puzzle Rooms
Some neighborhoods include Cluemaster Puzzle Rooms, which are often more challenging than the Cluemaster Puzzles found in the open world, and also award Cluemaster Puzzle Boxes. Cluemaster puzzle rooms are tracked on the map as an overlapping Cluemaster puzzle icon and a Puzzle Room icon, and solving one boosts both precinct trackers.
One very important thing to know is that Cluemaster Puzzle Rooms are unlocked as you complete the previous Puzzle Rooms. This can lead to situations where you don't see any more Cluemaster Puzzle icons in the district, but still haven't reached the total number of Cluemaster Puzzles in the district. This means that you haven't unlocked the Cluemaster Puzzle Room in that neighborhood yet, and you'll have to come back when you solve puzzles in other parts of Gotham.
