Developer Arrowhead informed its player base via a Steam News post that this update was originally planned for release on Wednesday, May 27, but that the patch had to be delayed as the developer was still waiting for a fix from its platform partners. The update finally arrived on May 29, just two days after its intended launch.

Helldivers 2The latest update can be divided into two key areas. The first key area in this update is the addition of upscaler support. With the help of Dutch video game developer Nixxes Software, Arrowhead was able to add support for some major game upscalers with this latest Helldivers 2 update. FSR 3.1.5, DLSS 4.5 and XeSS 3.0 are now supported Helldivers 2. Additionally, for users with NVIDIA GPUs, Helldivers 2 now supports NVIDIA Reflex and those using AMD GPUs now have access to AMD Anti-Lag 2. DRS support has also been added to PC. Variable rate shading (VRS) has also been added. Helldivers 2 for supported devices, which can help improve performance by reducing the amount of shading in some areas on the screen, reducing GPU load.
The second key area of this latest Helldivers 2 an update is a bug fix. Like most Helldivers 2 update before that, this latest patch brings another handful of fixes for a number of technical issues currently plaguing the sci-fi shooter. For example, fixed an issue where Helldivers could not manually climb small objects without auto-climb enabled. Several rendering issues have also been fixed, and performance and image quality have reportedly been improved across all platforms. Additional resolution options are now also available in the display settings for PC monitors. This update also improved VRAM management on PC.

According to Helldivers 2 The 2026 plan, released by Arrowhead in March and June, is set to deliver Helldivers 2 update 6.3. This update will reportedly include a new biome, new galactic war campaigns, a new Warbond, and even more quality of life fixes and balances.
