New Fallout 76 the event is officially live and offers players a chance to earn various in-game rewards until June 15th. The newly introduced promotion is part of a wider initiative to highlight some of the recent additions of content to Fallout 76.
The long-running live RPG launched its 25th season, Appalachia Under Siege, on June 2nd. Fallout 76 update is the Infestations system, which introduces a new type of recurring activity that randomly leaves certain locations overrun with individual enemy factions. Bethesda has framed Infestations as more than just a content add-on, presenting it as a potential plan for catering to groups while keeping both solo and team-based exploration as fresh as possible, even for players who have already spent thousands of hours exploring every nook and cranny of post-apocalyptic Appalachia.

Fallout 76 Reveals Dazzling Winners of 'Rip Daring vs Aliens Showdown' [EXCLUSIVE]
GameRant exclusively reveals the winners of the latest Fallout 76 CAMP design competition, themed “Rip Daring vs Aliens Showdown.”
This focus on turning familiar parts of Appalachia into repeatable flashpoints is also the central premise of PROTECT Protocol, Bethesda's new in-game event and community challenge launched on June 7. The event is accompanied by a small promotion awarding various digital items in exchange for player involvement. New rewards will be available every day until June 15 and can be earned through the service Fallout 76 Atomic trade. The first items available are Abraxo Paint for the T-51 Power Armor and Clean Mr. Fuzzy Headwear. Bethesda didn't release the rest of the bonuses in advance, though they've all already been datamined.
The main event of the ongoing offer focuses on showcasing Fallout 76 An infestation update with an emphasis on community participation. Each hack removed during the promotional period contributes to the overall progress of the community challenge. Contributors are set to receive the Brotherhood Protector Power Armor if players collectively clear 500,000 infestations by the June 15th deadline. As always, the Atomic Shop daily rewards are available to everyone, regardless of whether they are actively participating in the event.
Separately, Bethesda is running another Fallout 1st trial during the same promotional window. Available for pick-up at the Atomic Shop, the offer gives players temporary access to select membership benefits, including unlimited Scrapbox, Aid Box, Survival Tent, plus a 10% SCORE boost. The Fallout 1st preview is especially relevant because Infestations are built around repetitive combat and constant looting. Inventory management can be cumbersome for non-paying Fallout 1st players, forcing them to trim their loot regularly. This has made the premium subscription one of the most controversial aspects Fallout 76although Bethesda has never bowed to fan pressure to remove it, only alleviating complaints by increasing free storage limits over the years.

The ongoing community challenge will run alongside the Scrip Surplus and Double Mutations event which is set to start next Thursday 11th June. Double Meat Week is then set to return on June 23, while July will focus on Bratsnacht, a new summer spin on the Fasnacht activity. Season 25 is planned for early September 2026. It may be followed by a mini-season, a format Bethesda began rolling out in spring 2025 as part of an effort to gradually move the game away from the three-month seasonal model. For now, however, Bethesda is still running regular seasons alongside intermittent mini-seasons, the next of which, Summer Sock Hop, is scheduled to run from July 21st to August 4th.
