The Naruto the manga officially ended on November 10, 2014, and its anime ended a few years later on March 23, 2017. Bandai reveals a new official Naruto TCG to be released in 2027
The Naruto series by Masashi Kishimoto debuted as a manga in Weekly Shonen Jump issue #43 of September 21, 1999. The series concluded on November 10, 2014 with 72 volumes. The Naruto anime was handled by Studio Pierrot, who took over the IP on October 3, 2002 and eventually produced two series for it — Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. The series would officially end its anime run on March 23, 2017. Afterwards, the Naruto series continued to receive films and revivals through Borutoa sequel that follows Naruto's son.
That being said, the Naruto series is far from dead. While most series are forgotten after a few years, Naruto is still going strong. On June 18, 2026, Bandai officially revealed a new and exciting Naruto project. It has now been confirmed that Naruto will be getting his own TCG card game. While Naruto has had several card games in the past, nothing compares to this new project in terms of scale. Bandai's TCG cards aren't given to just any series, and only a few massive IPs have them, like Pokémon or One Piece, along with a few others.
The exact release date of Naruto TCG has not yet been announced, but it is officially coming in 2027, via information revealed by Bandai. Meanwhile, the game will still debut at Gen Con 2026 between July 30 and August 2, 2026. You can see Bandai's teaser here:

Kishimoto's message and illustrations for the new Naruto TCG release have fans excited
With such a massive announcement for Naruto It was more than expected that Masashi Kishimoto, the creator of the franchise, would make a statement. Kishimoto's new message was actually revealed to the public on June 18, 2026. The message was simple and the author was simply happy about the new project.
“NARUTO CARD GAME!
I'm glad that the world of NARUTO is growing again.
I truly hope these cards find their way into both your hands and your hearts.”
— Masashi Kishimoto, creator of NARUTO
But that's not all, Kishimoto has also released a stunning new illustration for the occasion. In Kishimoto's iconic art style, he brought his two main characters, Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha, to the event. In this new artwork, the two of them make ninja signs and hold the new Naruto TCG cards. It's not every day that Kishimoto draws Naruto characters after the manga ends, so this is definitely exciting for fans of the series who have missed his art style.

Future projects for the Naruto franchise after the reveal of the TCG card game
Naruto slowed down as a franchise after the conclusion of the manga and anime, but the future is still bright for it, and it has solidified itself as an iconic series and a must-watch for any anime fan. First, the Naruto franchise still has Boruto. Although not entirely created by Kishimoto, he is still involved as his official leader, working with his former editor Ikemoto to create a follow-up story to Boruto Uzumaki. The Boruto manga continues and the Boruto anime is likely to return soon.
In addition to Boruto, the Naruto franchise itself has been promised 4 special episodes by Studio Pierrot. These episodes have been in the works for several years now, and it has been revealed that production has already been completed. It's unclear when these episodes will be released, but it could be anytime between 2026 and 2027. We're also all hoping for a full-on remake of the Naruto anime. After all, if One Piece, a series with an ongoing anime, can get it, there's nothing stopping Naruto from a full revival.
