Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Volume 3 officially confirms the endings of Yuji, Nobara, and Megumi Fushiguro
Jujutsu Kaisen module St. 3 was officially released in Japan on May 1, 2026. In the US, this volume is still more than a year away. Regardless, the contents of JJK Vol. 3 has already been translated and quite a few exciting details have been revealed to us from it as well. When Gege Akutami started writing JJK, he already had the idea of killing off three of his characters. At the end of the series, Gojo Satoru died while Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara all survived. However, things have changed drastically Jujutsu Kaisen: Moduloand this trio didn't get the happy ending many expected.
“I haven't decided on the final EP yet…one of them (Yuji, Megumi, Nobara, Gojo) will die, or just 1 life, and the others will die” — Gege Akutami, Jump Festa 2019
As for Yuji Itadori, it was obvious that he had lost his purpose in life. Yuji didn't know what to do with his life anymore after witnessing the death of one friend after another. After consuming Death Paintings 4-9, Yuji Itadori's aging slowed tremendously and he barely aged compared to everyone else. This is why he cut himself off from society to come back to help the younger generation at the very end of JJK Modulo Volume 3.
“After absorbing the Cursed Womb, he became a curse-human hybrid, causing his aging to slow down to an extreme degree” – Gege Akutami explains Yuji's aging body in Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo Volume #3 Notes
Yuji eventually found his true purpose again in Modulo Volume 3 and decided to help create a new world where cursed energy is kept to a minimum and cursed spirits no longer spawn in large numbers. To this end, Yuji also sought the help of Nobara Kugisaki and officially reunited with her in the last Volume of Modulo on May 1, 2026. It has now been officially confirmed that Yuji Itadori and Nobara Kugisaki will once again work together to establish a new generation of wizards.
Yuji's goal is simple: he intends to find all the Heavenly Restriction users born after he and Maru work together to eliminate the cursed energy from the vast majority of the next generation of humans. At the same time, Yuji Itadori is preparing to mass produce all the powerful Cursed Tools in the Gojo Clan's inventory. These Heaven's Limit users will be trained with these Cursed Tools and given the abilities to deal with a select few Cursed Spirits that will be born in Tokyo.
When Yuji Itadori dies 300 years later, he hopes that the next generation of wizards will be self-sufficient and strong enough to deal with these wizards. To this end, the ends of Yuji and Nobara are tied together and the two will work together from here on into the future.
“I will live another 300 years or so. I will handle whatever comes next. And if necessary, I will bear the consequences of this great sin.” — Yuji Itadori, Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo Chapter #22

After 3 years, Jujutsu Kaisen finally welcomes back Gojo Satoru
The official return of Gojo Satoru is finally revealed in the new Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 trailer.
Megumi Fushiguro died at an unknown point after the events of Shinjuku
While Yuji and Nobara's endings are pretty clear, Megumi's ending is rather disappointing and disappointing. Megumi Fushiguro was not shown at all in Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo Volume #3. The only mention comes from Yuji Itadori in chapter 25, which marked the conclusion of the entire volume. In this particular chapter, it was clear that Yuji missed Megumi Fushiguro's presence. In other words, Megumi had already died. The circumstances of his death remain unclear at this time, but considering that a lot of time has passed since the events of Shinjuku Shodown, we can only assume that it was a death of natural causes.
Nobara: Who even knows how to become a cursed item?
Yuji: That's why I say we should all find a way together.
Nobara: If only Fushiguro was here at a time like this.

This also explains why Yuji was so upset and lost the meaning of life. Seeing some of his best friends die in front of him, including Megumi Fushiguro, would be traumatic for him and he didn't know how to deal with such a loss. Fortunately, Megumi's memory lives on in Yuji Itadori and his will will be kept alive for many years to come.

Jujutsu Kaisen Could Explore The Future Of Yuji Itadori And Nobara Kugisaki In New Single Shot After Modulo Closes
While Jujutsu Kaisen concluded the stories of his main trio in Modulo Chapter 25, which was officially released on March 8, 2026 and finally released in volume form on May 1, 2026, these endings can still be expanded if Gege Akutami wants it. At the end of JJK Modulo's serialization in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, an editor's note officially confirmed that both Gege Akutami and Yuji Iwasaki are looking forward to continuing the mangaka's work.
“Please look forward to the next work of Gege Akutami and Yuji Iwasaki. Thank you!” — Editor's Note at the end of Chapter #25 Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo
While it wasn't clear what series he would embark on next, there is still a possibility that he will return to Jujutsu Kaisen again. This is because Yuji Itadori has officially set in motion a plan that would allow him to raise the next generation of wizards in a world where humans cooperate with the Rumelians. There is a lot of research into alien technology going on. At the same time, the most interesting plot point was brought up at the end JJK Modulo Volume 3, when Yuji Itadori mentioned that he would turn into a cursed object, similar to Ryomen Sukuna.
Yuji wants to turn into a finger and in the future if something goes wrong he wants to be absorbed by who will probably be the next main character. Then, just as Sukuna was reincarnated at the very beginning of Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuji will do the same. This brings the whole story full circle and represents the perfect conclusion to Yuji Itadori's life. It's something we absolutely can't wait to see if the author is going to explore.
All chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen and Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo are available to read through Manga Plus and Viz Media.
