Logan Paul, MrBeast and KSI recently launched a new Lunchables competitor called Lunchly, which is part of their Feastable Prime drinks and snacks. But the trio's new product has proven incredibly controversial in its first few weeks due to reports of mold, with doctors and nutritionists also saying it's nowhere near as healthy as it claims.
In the midst of this backlash, Logan Paul revealed that someone had even called in a bomb threat to Lunchly HQ. As Dexerto reported, the caller has not yet been publicly identified, but Paul said the FBI has already found him, revealing that he's “based in London, which is crazy because we don't even distribute there.”
Logan Paul reacts to the mold controversy and the expected FDA recall
In the video above, Paul addresses the many controversies surrounding Lunchly's launch, from a bomb threat to mold claims and even a product recall.
For context, a photo of a Fred Meyer grocery store FDA recall notice was recently shared on Twitter that Lunchly had been pulled from shelves due to a public health risk. Logan Paul looked into the claims and found no public recall list, and even claims to have found an employee who printed the fake notice.
“I think it was kind of a rumor,” the employee reportedly said when confronted. “I was the one who wrote it. But since we got Lunchly back, it's been taken down. When it comes to a real situation like that, I think it was a liability, it was a rumor that was in the air. Because we When we heard the FDA said the whole thing was kaput, we took it down.”
As for the various photos and videos of mold found in Lunchly products, Paul doesn't blame it on faulty glue or a lack of preservatives, as some have speculated, but likely seals breaking in transit or due to rough handling in stores.
“The USDA inspects and approves every finished batch of food before it leaves our facility,” Paul said. “As with any product you buy, problems can happen and our retail partners are great – they will offer a full refund.”
The claim of mold in the Lunchly Pizza line specifically went viral after YouTuber and author Rosanna Pansino made a video comparing the product to Lunchables, only to discover moldy cheese. In response, Paul called her an “attention-hungry clout goblin” without addressing concerns about children potentially eating mold without realizing it, but instead claimed that Pansino is essentially a “hater” of MrBeast.
