Pokemon Scarlet and Violet announced Paradox Tera Raids in late January

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has pulled back the curtain on two new five-star Tera Raid battles starting at the end of January, featuring the Scream Tail and Iron Bundle. Both Paradox creatures will be level 75 but Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players will have limited time to catch them through Tera Raid boss battles.

The new five-star Tera Raid battles will begin just days after Alolan Exeggutor was introduced as the Tera raid boss. Both Scream Tail and Iron Bundle are classified as Paradox Pokémon, with the former being exclusive Pokemon Scarlet and the other k Pokemon Violet. Scream Tail bears a striking resemblance to Jigglypuff and has high defense and HP stats to complement his Psychic and Fairy typing. In comparison, Iron Bundle is a robot version of Delibird and is a dual-type ice and water Pokemon with high speed and special attack power. Normally, both Scream Tail and Iron Bundle can be found in Area Zero in their respective versions.

GameStop has officially confirmed that they will be limiting sales of the latest expansion set released for the Pokemon Trading Card Game.

To close out January, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will host another Five-Star Tera Raid event for trainers to test their skills. According to Serebii.net, the Paradox Tera Raids against Scream Tail and Iron Bundle will begin on Thursday, January 23rd at 7:00 PM ET and end on Sunday, January 26th at 6:59 PM ET. The event will only last one weekend, so Pokemon coaches will have just 72 hours to participate. The Scream Tail and Iron Bundle battles will be the first Paradox Tera Raid events since May 2024, when Iron Thorns and Sandy Shocks were introduced. The Scream Tail and Iron Bundle will have different types of Tera available, but will come with their respective abilities, Protosynthesis and Quark Drive. Pokemon Scarlet players will encounter Scream Tail and Pokemon Violet players will face the Iron Bundle.

In battle, Scream Tail can use moves like Play Rough, Psychic Fangs, and Hyper Voice to deal serious damage, while Iron Bundle will likely use attacks like Ice Beam, Flip Turn, and Drill Peck. Although this will be Scream Tail's first time as a Tera Raid boss Pokemon Scarlet and Violetthe same cannot be said for the Iron Bundle. In December 2023, the Seven-Star Tera Raid event with Iron Bundle the Unrivaled gave trainers a chance to catch a level 100 version of the robotic Paradox Pokémon.

Between the new Terra raid battles and the ongoing Mystery Gift item code event, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet continue to offer ways to keep players engaged. With Pokemon Day 2025 just over a month away, only time will tell what surprises The Pokemon Company has in store.
