No Man's Sky Players want to take base building to another level, asking Hello Games to incorporate customizable space stations into the incredibly large universe of the interstellar survival game. Basic building in No Man's Sky has already come a long way from where it started nearly 10 years ago, and the ability to build your own custom space stations is one direction the game could be heading in the future.
When it was first released in August 2016, No Man's Sky was widely seen as a game with high aspirations that failed to deliver on its promises. While the game supported over 18.4 quintillion planets for players to discover and explore, there wasn't much to do on them at first. However, regular free updates throughout the game's lifespan have added a wide variety of content with improved base building. No Man's Sky is one of the development team's first post-launch priorities, fueling one of the greatest turnaround successes in modern gaming.

No Man's Sky players demand customizable space stations
10th anniversary coming up No Man's SkyThe fan base is now demanding the ability to build similar bases throughout the universe that are not tied to individual planets. A recent Reddit post by user awacate_gamerYT has gotten a lot of attention for its suggestion of customizable space stations, an idea that many fans of the game seem to strongly support. According to this particular player's design, these space stations would follow several conventional ground base building rules, but also include some features No Man's Sky's settlements, such as supporting large residential NPC populations and allowing outside ships to visit.
Players already have many options for creating their own spaces throughout the universe. One of the first additions to meet this criteria was the addition No Man's SkyCargo ships, massive ships that support hangars, storage facilities, teleporters, and other amenities, with interiors that are almost as customizable as planet-bound bases. But while freighters provide a hub that can travel between star systems, their early addition to the game means they don't take advantage of some of the more advanced features that were added in No Man's Sky.
This recent post is far from the first time players have requested the ability to build their own space stations, and the frequency with which these requests are appearing just goes to show how in demand space stations are as a feature. Some have speculated that demand may be pushing them to be included in the 10th anniversary update in August, and several fans have appealed No Man's Sky creator Sean Murray with their requests. Murray used player feedback as a driving force for a lot of things No Man's SkyThe content has been updated in the past and is probably well aware of how other players have requested space stations.

No Man's Sky it also seems to have found an unlikely competitor for gamers' attention in Bethesda Star field. While this game is much heavier on RPG elements, both share similar concepts such as exploring multiple planets and cataloging alien life forms.
