Pop singer Camila Cabello is undergoing a very unsubtle rebrand, and these latest photos reveal how far she’s prepared to go.
Cabello, 27, is famous for her iconic brunette locks. She recently ditched them to go Courtney Love blonde and her style has shifted ever since.
New photos of her at the music festival Coachella have certainly confirmed her transformation.
The singer wore high-waisted denim shorts, knee-length matching leg warmers and a white see-through top. To complete the unique look, she also wore a leather bomber jacket.
She looked like Sandy in Grease if she had been heavily influenced by what 14-year-olds wear for late-night shopping outings with friends.
The unusual rebrand screamed, “I’ve changed my look, everybody!”
Before, she was a pop singer who played it safe. She’d never make the worst or best dressed, and everyone was okay with it, but now she wants everyone to know she’s going in for a more grunge “my parents don’t understand me” vibe.
She was far more glitzy pop and cute looks than bleached hair and a leather jacket. There’s a method to her madness, though.
Cabello is about to release her fourth studio album and wants everyone to know she’s grown up.
The singer became famous on X-Factor as a teenager when she was put into the girl group Fifth Harmony.
She spent a few solid years in that group before exiting in 2016 and launching her successful solo career that has spawned hits like Senorita and Havana.
She dated equally squeaky-clean pop singer Shawn Mendes on and off for a few years, but they called it quits in 2021.
Her last album, Familia, failed to achieve the success of her previous work and debuted at 10 on the Billboard 200 chart.
She wants to recapture public attention, and there is nothing like a massive transformation to get people talking about you again.
“Going blonde is the best decision she’s ever made,” someone wrote online.
“She looks so good,” another claimed.
“I love this era,” one added.
To further add to her transformation, in March she went on the popular podcast Call Her Daddy and spilled her guts.
The podcast, hosted by Alexandra Cooper, has become the place where celebrities talk candidly about their lives, and Cabello spoke about everything.
She discussed her favourite sex position, which she said depended on the person.
The pop singer also shared that her favourite time to have sex was the afternoon because it felt so “European” but she also enjoys a morning session.
Surprisingly she also spoke about Mendes and those viral images of them kissing at Coachella in 2023.
Cabello said that she’s a known “fan” of getting back together with an ex and that her impulsivity doesn’t help the situation.
She explained that the idea of never hooking up with an ex again isn’t something she can ever promise herself.
“I’m not someone that you can forbid things from because I’ll want to do it more,” she explained.
