Battlefield 6 developer DICE was the most recent example of this, but now Virgil Watkins, design director for ARC Raiderstold PCGamesN that the newly released extraction shooter will “maintain the current aesthetic”. The developer goes on to assure the community that any upcoming cosmetics and skins will “fit with our sense of how these things look and fit into the world and into the fiction.”

[that] we would never, say, do a Santa Claus outfit.” However, the director says that Embark would design something that fits the tone and aesthetic of the game and “evokes Santa Claus.” Although some fans may worry that it could limit ARC Raiders when it comes to cosmetics, Watkins says Embark still plans to give “as much freedom as possible” and allow the community to express themselves freely.
Embark's first foray into the extraction shooter genre is a quick one ARC Raiders passed an incredible player milestone just hours after its launch. While the official figures for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S are unknown, the title climbed to over 264,000 concurrent players on Steam on launch day and currently has a “very positive” rating on the platform.
