After teasing the community with news of its December update, Embark has finally revealed all the details for the upcoming winter event in ARC Raidersadding a unique map state, additional community events and opportunities for free rewards. From ARC Raiders The game launched on October 30th and has been able to maintain its player base in large part due to consistent updates on top of an already solid gameplay base.
Embark Studios skyrocketed to impressive sales and player numbers at launch, continuing to gain fans through major updates, the first of which added a new community event that eventually led to the Stella Montis map. That level of success and player engagement is ultimately what helped ARC Raiders snagged Best Multiplayer Game at The Game Awards 2025, and Embark doesn't seem to have any plans to slow down. After a big win, the studio has now revealed all the details for its big December update, the Winter Event.

ARC Raiders winter event details
From December 16, the winter season will start ARC Raiders and its variety of maps. We join the other map conditions currently available in ARC Raidersplayers will have to contend with Cold Snap, which adds freezing temperatures and snow to the currently hit map. Not only will this reduce the player's vision, but the cold weather will start to cause frostbite to those outside for too long.
Embark also reveals that frostbite should not be taken lightly, as it can “destroy your Raider in minutes” if left unchecked. To counter this deadly condition, players will need to seek cover indoors or find ways to continue healing. Needless to say, it will be interesting to see how this changes player behavior, as getting caught outside, camping, or engaging in a firefight outside will likely result in a quick trip back to Speranza.
However, in addition to the deadly new map state, the Flickering Flames event is also set to begin. Draw inspiration from ARC RaidersThe Stella Montis community event, the Flickering Flames Project, tasks players with donating items related to light and heat while also collecting a new resource called the Candleberry Bush. Donating these items will also reward players who can redeem the merits for various rewards.

For players who suddenly have a surplus of credits, the Winter Update adds another free Raider Deck to start unlocking items, resources and gear, including a new goalkeeper outfit. The update also promises more quests to work on, first ARC Raiders The expedition departure window opens, and for those willing to spend a little more money, there's a new set of Misthorn armor in the game store.
Part of the appeal ARC Raiders it's how urgent the game can be, with each round offering new experiences and situations. This is partly due to the amount of options available to players and how creative some want to be. For example, the flute has been used by many to show that they are not dangerous, and with the Cold Snap update Embark adds another new item. ARC Raiders players can get a guitar, presumably in the new Raider Deck, that can be played during rounds. The added instrument will undoubtedly lead to interesting encounters, perhaps signaling the beginning of a roving mariachi band.
