Latest Assassin's Creed Invictus Test Reportedly 'Terrible'
According to previous insider reports Assassin's Creed Invictus It was originally targeting a 2025 release before being pushed back to 2026. Even that tentative launch target may now slip after the game's latest announced test, according to YouTuber and longtime Ubisoft leaker j0nathan. In a May 2nd post on X, j0nathan shared a screenshot of an official-looking April 30th email invite Assassin's Creed Invictus playtest. The PC-only test was “really ******** bad,” the YouTuber claimed, citing a second-hand account.
AC Invictus could reportedly drop out of 2026 or worse
In the same post, j0nathan supported recent rumors that Assassin's Creed Invictus he focused on the 2026 edition and described them as accurate. However, the leak said the project now has a “high chance” of being delayed or even canceled due to its lackluster state. It's not clear if this rating is based on insider information that J0nathan occasionally shares or if it's a personal guess. Regardless, the report itself does not inspire confidence Assassin's Creed Invictus working just as Ubisoft probably hoped would follow roughly four years of development.
A partially redacted email invite shared by j0nathan appears to confirm earlier rumors Assassin's Creed Invictus is competitive in nature and describes the unreleased game as “an all-new multiplayer PvP experience” set in Assassin's Creed universe. Although the leaked email is in French, it's unclear if the April 30th playtest took place outside of France and/or Canada. Enrollment requirements are also unclear. Many of Ubisoft's playtests rely on fan sign-ups to create a pool of potential testers, but Ubisoft has not officially offered any pre-registration for Assassin's Creed Invictus to date.

Previously described by j0nathan and several other established leaks Assassin's Creed Invictus like something similar to the Mediatonic hit Autumn Guys. First published in August 2020, Autumn Guys is a chaotic multiplayer game that presents platforming challenges in a battle royale format and tasks dozens of players with chasing the golden crown through deadly levels until only one is left. Although such a light-hearted, party game-style format may seem difficult to reconcile with a fairly serious franchise such as Assassin's Creedit would not be entirely without precedent. Ubisoft Halifax and Behavior Interactive Assassin's Creed Rebellionoriginally released for mobile in 2018, it has already shown that the IP can accommodate more stylized and whimsical interpretations, including chibi-style character designs.
