Despite the lack of official information about Pokemon winds and waves and Gen 10 as a whole after the initial reveal of the Pokemon Day trailer, there have been several alleged leaks on the internet about what will happen to these games and even beyond. For example, Pokemon winds and wavesThe leaked map has been online for a few days now, showing the entire archipelago for the Gen 10 games, including various locations, biomes, and gyms. Not only that, but there have also been leaks detailing what games are currently in full production or pre-production for the series. Pokemon winds and waves.
This alleged leak is almost surprising Pokemon winds and waves have been in the works for several years, and last year's TeraLeak even featured early concept images and Pokemon legends game for the Galar region. Gen 11 is also in pre-production, according to this leak, showing how deep these long-term plans have to go. An important detail that emerges from the current plans for Gen 10 is the fact that no remakes appear to be in the works. This may seem like the next logical step for the following series BDSP were outsourced to ILCA, but it's further confirmation that Gen 5 is getting the short end of the stick.

Everything in Pokemon Gen 10 Teraleak explained
Images and documents related to the Pokemon Gen 10 games, reportedly called Pokemon Wind and Wave, have surfaced online, detailing their new content.
It's the end of an era for Pokemon games
Pokemon remakes have been a long tradition of the series, to the point that Gen 5 remakes were a huge talking point throughout the lifespan of Gen 9. Fans expected them to be the next in line after Gen 4 saw remakes before Gen 9 even came out, but they never came. One could argue that The Indigo Disk DLC was an homage to the Unova games and Gen 5 as a whole, but it's far from a remake.

Based on a leak from Centro Leaks, there are four releases in full production and two games in pre-production at Game Freak. These are:
- Pokemon winds and waves (full production, said to be completed)
- Pokemon Pokopia DLC co-developed by Omega Force (full production, rumored to launch between late 2026 and early 2027)
- Pokemon winds and waves DLC (full production, likely 2028 release)
- Pokemon legends Galar game if TeraLeak documents are true (full production could be 2028 or 2029 release)
- Pokemon Project SeedMMO game with four Japanese regions (pre-production, was detailed in TeraLeak)
- Pokemon Gen 11 (pre-production)
If this leak is true, there are a few things to consider. Pokemon winds and waves will launch in late 2027 based on recent leaks, with no news this year. Assuming that's also true, it means that games in production are planned for at least a few years ahead, possibly until 2031 or later. Just because there are no remakes on the list doesn't automatically mean the trend is over for good, but its resurrection is highly unlikely.
Say Goodbye to Pokemon Gen 5 Remakes
There are several reasons why it is now highly unlikely that it will ever appear Pokemon Gen 5 will get a makeover after this leak, assuming it's legit. These are:
-
Given that Pokemon BDSPRevenue was very poor, it is unlikely that future remakes will be outsourced again, risking the same fate.
- Pokemon The Gen 5 remakes were not part of TeraLeak, nor were they part of any recent leak from trusted sources.
- Pokemon remakes are usually released in between the main games to ease the wait while reviving older regions. The fact that no remakes are currently in the works or announced makes it more likely that they will end.
- Pokemon Legends: ZA's Mega Evolutions allowed Game Freak to explore the older region and battle gimmick without relying on remakes, so the future Legends games may end up covering Gen 5 and end the remakes.
The only salvation for Pokemon remakes is that they will be outsourced again, despite BDSP's performance, and are therefore not on the list of games currently in production. It's not impossible, but even if it was, it would mean that Game Freak-made remakes are almost guaranteed not to return, which is sad in itself. As such, if you hope so Pokemon black and white remakes or sequels, you should temper your expectations.
