The player triggered a rare dialog in Nautiloid.

Maybe it's because of the recruitment of Us, the “friendly” intellect devourer.
Baldur's Gate 3 is becoming the type of RPG you can safely say you'll never know everything about, as players are still discovering new things more than a year after release. Larian Studios is constantly praised for their attention to detail in Baldur's Gate 3, and it's well deserved.
Rare dialogue takes place during the opening sequence of the game aboard the Nautiloid. When one enters the 'boss room' where Mindfler fights Commander Zhaik, the Illithid usually shouts “You Thrall! Connect the nerves to the transponder. We have to escape. Now,” because they have the impression that the player and their companions are mindless slaves after the tadpole infection.
Don't call me Thrall
However, an alternate dialogue was discovered by Morganlefey on Reddit. While the original poster wasn't sure what triggered this dialogue, a commenter named HumanFighter420 theorizes that it's because the player entered a room with “us”, the Intellect Devourer that you can befriend in one of the first Nautiloid rooms.
Since the eater isn't a slave, Mindflaer instead says, “You! Find the slave. They need to connect the nerves of the transponder. We have to escape. Now.” It's a small change, but it reflects that the creature being addressed is not a slave. Several commentators have speculated that this line could be a holdover from early accesses where level 2 could be reached before leaving the Nautiloid. If you were playing a druid, you could potentially enter the room as a wild character.
It's worth noting that Baldur's Gate 3 cutscenes have been patched over the past year. While cutscenes used to feature the closest companion to the trigger, they are now always supposed to place the player character in the cutscene. This dialogue triggering may be inconsistent, but it may also be a different form of cinematic, as there is no way to react to Mindflare's dialogue.
Either way, the amount of goodies to be discovered in Baldur's Gate 3 continues to amaze. One can only wonder how much we will know about the game in ten years.
Baldur's Gate 3 is the long-awaited next chapter in the RPG series based on Dungeons & Dragons. Developed by Divinity creator Larian Studios, it puts you in the middle of a thought flayer invasion of Faerûn, more than a century after the events of its predecessor.
