Beerus' destructive moveset explained

Key things

  • Beerus wields Hakai's destructive ability and effortlessly erases targets from existence.
  • Beerus uses the Cataclysmic Orb attack with minimal effort, an attack with the ability to destroy anything it touches.
  • The Sphere of Destruction is Beerus' most powerful attack, showcasing his immense destructive power.

As a god of destruction whose job it is to remove any stagnation from his universe that hinders its development, Beerus is powerful enough to wipe out entire planets with minimal effort. However, he is incredibly lazy and never takes his work seriously, always preferring to sleep or eat instead of fulfilling his duties.

Despite this, Beerus has some of the most impressive performances ever Dragon Ball. His awesome power was never shown, not even close to his maximum capacity, though he was shown to be arguably the most powerful god of destruction across the multiverse. So let's take a look at Beerus' destructive moveset and see what makes him such a powerful character.

God of Destruction Beerus Saga

The basic requirement to become a God of Destruction for their universe is an insurmountable power that allows them to wield the Energy of Destruction, or as it is more commonly known, Hakai. This ability is destruction incarnate and is most notably used by the Gods of Destruction as their primary ability that allows them to fulfill their duties. This power gives the user the ability to destroy anything and everything, no matter what it is, be it entire planets, tiny rocks, or even intangible things like souls.

Ghost or not, there's nothing Lord Beerus can't destroy.

Beerus demonstrated a control over this power like no other when he was shown to destroy half of a planet with just a tap of his finger. In addition to destroying a planet with his Hakai, Beerus also tapped an eggshell to vaporize it into nothingness, not only showing how deadly this ability is by letting the user destroy anything they want with virtually no effort, but also demonstrated Beerus' control over such power. Hakai's target is simply erased from all aspects of existence, as it doesn't even go to the Otherworld after disintegrating.

Another of Beerus' powerful moves created from his Energy of Destruction, the Cataclysmic Orb is an attack that Beerus uses with seemingly minimal effort or exhaustion. It is created by Beerus first bringing his hands together to create a small ball of destructive energy and then holding it on the tip of his index finger. This attack is surrounded by a constantly swirling energy that gives it the appearance of an atom, powerful enough to destroy anything it touches.

I am a deity. More importantly; one standing world or battle of the gods? That's not even a question.

This is probably Beerus' most used ability which he can freely touch and control as seen by him juggling it like it was a soccer ball. If the Cataclysmic Orb touches anything, it will obliterate it effortlessly, so the only way to contain it is to keep it at a distance with your strongest Ki attacks. Beerus has threatened to destroy the Earth by dropping it into the planet's stratosphere, and also produces them when he sneezes.

God of Destruction Beerus Saga

The Sphere of Destruction is probably the most powerful attack in Beerus' entire arsenal, at least from what fans know of it now. Unlike his normal attacks, this one does not appear to be infused with purple shades of Energy of Destruction, leading many to believe that it is merely a product made purely of Beerus' own Ki, which is incredibly destructive without the need for any derived energy. from Hakai.

It's a blast attack from Beerus! This is not good!

However, it is very likely that she could have the energy of destruction but just not show it. Taking a Goku-like stance as he creates his Spirit Bomb, Beerus raises his hand to create a massive golden orb that resembles the fiery face of the Sun, showing just how powerful this character truly is. Beerus also powers up this attack with another beam of energy that he fires to power up the orb, which is so powerful that Goku had to use every ounce of his strength to stop it.

Ultra Instinct was the default for Vegeta when he failed in the Tournament of Power and fans were always waiting for it to happen. However, he states that he will find his own path to power, helped by Beerus with Ultra Ego, stating that becoming calm and peaceful to use Ultra Instinct was against the nature of the Gods of Destruction, so they had their own technique. that suited their strengths.

Ultra Instinct isn't the gods' only technique. That's exactly the angel's specialty. Or did you really think we Gods of Destruction were going to run around using a move that required you to keep your heart still and peaceful?

Although Ultra Ego uses Vegeta as a transformation similar to Goku with his Ultra Instinct, it is actually a technique that the Destroyer Gods use passively all the time. The power of this technique comes from ripping off damage rather than dodging to make them stronger so their next attack will deal much more damage. This technique favors brute strength and pure offensive power.

The Divine Technique of Ultra Instinct remains perhaps the most requested technique within the set Dragon Ball multiverse. This is because it is a technique owned by the most powerful race of them all; angels, and while anyone can learn it, it is so difficult to master that none of the Gods of Destruction can use it to its full extent, with Goku being the only non-angel to have perfected the technique.

Look at that great form! There can be no doubt about it! This is true power, complete in all its majesty. This is Autonomous Ultra Instinct!

However, Beerus stands out from his Destroyer God contemporaries as the only one shown to use the Ultra Instinct Sign, which is basically a less effective version of the technique, complete with defensive aspects, but lacking sufficient attack. This was seen in a short battle between destroyers that took place before the tournament as an exhibition match to test the stage. Here, all the destroyers started by piling on Beerus, but the Universe 7 destroyer was powerful and skilled enough to take them all at once, using the Ultra Instinct Sign, his brilliant tactical mind, and his destructive abilities to do so.
