That makes Knight, Ranger, and Priest well suited for earning gold, collecting gear, and pushing into harder stages. It's also a great setup because it doesn't require any paid DLC.
Priest is a free DLC Hero, and you'll need to claim her through Steam before she can be deployed. The easiest way to do that is to navigate to the Formation menu, select Priest next to “Characters,” and click the button beneath her sprite.
Best Hero To Pick First
Ranger, Knightand Priest are all reasonable starting Heroes, although Ranger and Knight are probably the best first options. Ranger is probably the better pick for players who want faster clears and early farming speed, while Knight is a strong choice for players who want a reliable frontline Hero from the beginning.

Knight + Ranger is better for players who want a more traditional frontline-and-damage setup.
Knight + Priest is also viable if you are struggling to survive, although it will usually clear slower than Ranger-focused parties. If your party is surviving but farming slowly, prioritize Ranger. If your party is dying too quickly, prioritize Knight or Priest.
Best Farming Party Setup
As noted, Knight, Rangerand Priest may not be the absolute fastest party setup for farming. If you want to clear easier stages faster, try a more offensive Ranger, Priestand Sorcerer party, with Priest placed towards the front if she can survive.
If that setup struggles to stay alive or push harder stages, swap Sorcerer out for Knight. This gives you a simple rule to follow: use Knight when you need stability, and use Sorcerer when you can already survive and want more damage.

Are Paid DLC Heroes Worth It?

For players who don't want to spend money, the safest recommendation is simple: claim the free Priest DLC, then build around Knight, Rangerand Priest.
How To Change Your Party Formation
To change your party formation, open the Hero menu and select the Formation table From there, you can unlock new Heroes, deploy them into open Hero Slots, and change their positions.

Notably, you should not ignore positioning when making changes in the Formation tab.
