The build-up to Xbox's first Call Of Duty launch is really in full swing, with just nine days to go until the release of Black Ops 6. CoD's first launch since Xbox was acquired by Activision Blizzard, it turns out that there's more to the occasion than just Black Ops 6 will arrive on the first day of Game Pass. Xbox also revealed a range of Black Ops 6 accessories, including what is only the second Series X themed console after one of its studio's games.

There was a time when multiple versions of the console were released during a given generation, themed around different games, but PlayStation and Xbox seem to have taken a different approach this generation. Xbox released a Starfield skin to go around the X Series for anyone who wanted to give their console a makeover last year, but until now it was the only game to receive this particular Xbox accessory.

Three new Xbox console models are available for purchase starting today

No mid-gen updates from Xbox, just some new models for existing consoles, and they're all available to buy starting today.

Black Ops 6's cover design features a three-headed wolf logo and has been made to look like it's covered in torn documents, in keeping with the espionage theme of the new Call Of Duty campaign. The X series cases are made with solid panels and kind of fold around your console and snap into place with gaps so you can still reach the buttons, provided you put the skin on properly.

Pre-orders for the wrap are now open. It costs $54.99 and yes, it will be with you in time for Black Ops 6. The bundle is scheduled for October 23rd with the new CoD game coming out two days later. Xbox also revealed two new Call Of Duty controllers, an Elite model and a regular one, but ordering them is a bit more complicated and more expensive than the bundle.

Instead of releasing Black Ops 6 controllers, Xbox added options inspired by the game to the Design Lab. Similar to the Fallout shell that was added to the Design Lab earlier this year, the option is now available for Black Ops 6. It costs $14.99 to pick it up for the regular controller, bringing the price up from $69.99 to $84.98. The CoD case for the Elite controller is also $14.99, but since the regular version of the higher-end Xbox controller costs $149.99, the Black Ops 6 version starts at $164.98 and will be more expensive depending on the other options you choose.

The removal of the option a little over a week before the release of Black Ops 6 makes it appear as if Xbox made the change to prevent people from using the trial version to play the new Call of Duty game.
