After a fierce bloody war with the Shinigami a thousand years ago, the Quincy Licht Reich was almost destroyed. And Quincy King entered a deep sleep to recover. The Quincy were hunted down by the Shinigami and exterminated en masse. Only a few families remained, such as the Kurosaki or Ishida. The remaining loyal servants of the king hid in the shadows in a new kingdom called the Wandenreich. There they waited patiently for their time to rise again. They wrote a prophecy, a song to tell of the return of their father and king: Kaiser Gesang.

Nine years ago, Quincy King awoke and to regain his power, he performed the Auswählen. A ritual in which he forcibly drains energy from Quincy he deems unworthy or impure. In doing so, he took the life of Masaki Kurosaki, who had hollow reiatsu in her. And Kanae Katagiri, a mixed breed Quincy and mother of Uryuu Ishida. He then began the process of restoring his full power and after nine years he was able to finally open his eyes and activate his true ability: The Almighty.

The Almighty allows Yhwach to see everything that will happen in the future. They see every single possibility simultaneously like grains of sand. He becomes omniscient about the future. This allows him to adapt to the distant future, setting traps where his opponents will be, and proper countermeasures and all abilities. Additionally, any ability he sees in the future will not work against him. He can adapt and change the future to his advantage. That is the true power of the Almighty.

Future Acausality allows Quincy King to change the future in any way he wishes. If there is a future that will result in his death, he can change it to prevent it. If there is an ability in the future that can defeat him, he can destroy such a power before it is even activated. The Almighty effectively gives Yhwach omnipotence. With this ability, Yhwach becomes virtually invincible as there is no defense, understanding or countermeasure to his divine power. He stands at the top as Quincy King, the Almighty.

Yhwach had to wait a full nine years before regaining his strength and activating his power. If he did it sooner, it would spiral out of control, causing him to accidentally rob his Sternritter of their power. But now his majesty has awakened and he has become the single most powerful being Bleach. With complete omnipotence, he can see and change the future to always ensure victory over the Shinigami and Soul Society.
