Blue lock Season 2 Episode 6,”Big scene” kicks off the much-anticipated and intense match between the Blue Lock XI and the career-defining Japan U-20 Team. Whether this is a faithful adaptation of one of the best arcs in manga history, or if all the hype dies down as the previous episodes were handled, remains to be seen.

Blue lock Season 2 continues to fall short of fans' high expectations due to various reasons why the studio hasn't been able to give this insanely popular arc the love it deserves. Fans are still hoping it doesn't look too good, but every now and then there is some saving grace.

The expected match begins

Blue Castle XI vs U-20 Japan

U20 team

Yet, Blue lock it did a good job at best of building hype or showing any action, but there were a few decent scenes in each episode. The fans put all their hopes into this match and when we get into the episode, it starts with Sae and Aiku discussing how Shidou is not compatible with their team at all and that if he can play, the others won't.

This kind of eliminates everything that has been shown so far about how Sae will play on the team only if Shidou is allowed to play. Even later in the episode, the Blue Lock XI team is also surprised to not see Shidou on the team. However, this has no implications for the episode itself, but kind of negates what was going on with Sae the whole time. Still, it's not bad that we can see him as the only star striker in the team.

Key players of the match

Itoshi Brothers Unite

Rin and Sae

Although the main protagonist of the show is Isagi, the main focus is also on players such as the Itoshi brothers and other members of the Blue Lock XI and U-20 Japan, which is one of the strengths of the show as it does not rely solely on the MC. trope and gives attention to every member of the team.

However, what is disappointing and a major problem with the show is its recent pacing. Even though season 2 barely had any action, they failed to give proper backstories to any of the characters who are key players here in season 2. It would have been nice to see some real motivation instead of immediately rushing into the match. behind some of the key players as shown during Aiku's story, even though it was extremely short.

Crazy lineup of matches

To witness something wonderful, albeit flawed

rin and sae-1

The Blue Lock XI prepare to face the Japan U-20 team as they walk out to the stadium. Although fans have complained about the animations and CGI since the beginning of Season 2, the hype that was created for the match was commendable. When you see the players looking at the crowd and the crowd chanting, it really excites you like you are witnessing a real live World Cup match.

Although the animation hasn't really improved, the use of CGI can be controversial in this episode as it looks a bit better than in previous episodes, and this can be seen better during Bachira's dribbling sequence as well as Aiku's defensive sequence. It's nothing to get excited about, but at least it gives a slight semblance that there's still hope for the rest of the match to have better animation, as Blue Lock Vs. The U-20 Japan Arc in the manga is considered one. of the best arches ever.

The match of the generation

What could have been

U20 match-1

However, the match itself started a little too early, but seeing how far the Blue Lock team has come and their journey – animations and other bad things aside – is quite enjoyable. It was heartening to see family members of our beloved players like Isagi and Bachira watching them play. The match begins with the Blue Lock players trying to prove themselves in the most perfect scenario ever. A few of the episode's strong points could be said about how the players went so far as to actually trust each other.

The funniest part of the episode was the compatibility between Isagi and Bachira. Bachira's love of playing with Isagi is really the highlight of the episode, though it's interrupted when Aiku decides to put them in their place, telling them that their team's defenses are impenetrable. Aside from the match, one of the funniest parts of the episode, as always, is found in the extra time slot where Nagi and Kenyu continue the game and compare the U-20 players to animals. However, when Rin asks who Sae compares herself to, things take a funny yet dark turn, bringing their intense sibling rivalry back into focus. We can only hope that the studio put all of their production effort into the sequel to the match to see how it pans out.
