While some reviewers praised the impressive range Days goneHordes' Freaker was most criticized for its lackluster open world, overly long story, and repetitive gameplay. Days Gone Remastered Releases Patch 1.036.180
As of October 2025 patch 1,036,180, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro owners can now play Days Gone Remastered in power saving mode. Power Saver Mode, which was added to consoles as part of a firmware update back in September 2025, reduces the amount of power the console uses at the cost of lower performance during gaming. Days Gone Remastered is the second PlayStation-released title to receive the Power Saver mode update, with the other two confirmed to receive it soon. The current list of Power Saver titles includes:
- Soul of Demons
- Days Gone Remastered
- Ghost of Yotei (Still to subscribe to updates)
- Death Stranding 2: On the Beach (Still to subscribe to updates)
To activate Power Saver mode, players need to head into their PS5 or PS5 Pro console settings and go to “System”. Once there, scroll down to the “Power Saving” tab and turn the feature on. It will then display a list of compatible games installed on the console and prompt players to enable the mode for each title.
Of course, turning on power saving mode takes a toll on your gaming experience. According to ResetEra users who have shared their own experience using Power Saving Mode, Soul of Demons it runs at 30 FPS and its graphical fidelity is noticeably affected. This is likely to be the case for all PlayStation Power Saver compatible games, including Days Gone Remastered.
While no other games have been confirmed by name, Sony has said that more titles are slated to receive the power saving mode update in the future. What's more, some believe that this Power Saver mode is actually a tease for the next PlayStation handheld console. Recent rumors from leaker Kepler suggest that the next generation of PlayStation hardware could include a handheld device that uses similar Power Saver technology to run games natively on devices with lower frame rates and fidelity. Although of course these are just rumors for now.
