Settings for Episode: Revenant's Gameplay Loop

After all, Fate 2 Episode: Revenant's gameplay loop largely revolves around Onslaught: Salvation and the new Tonic and Fieldwork system, which has already proven to divide players. This discrepancy is primarily because a large part of what Fate 2 players will do in the first act of Episode: Revenant involves a lot of menu navigation and crafting. That's not to say there isn't a lot of combat and gameplay involved, but generally it's all for the sake of making Tonics and completing Fieldwork.

Upon arriving in the new Last City social space, players will be introduced to Eido and her Tonic Laboratory. There, she researched ancient elixir recipes and concoctions in an attempt to save her father, Mithrax, who is sick with Nezarec's curse. From there, after completing the opening prologue mission and obtaining the Slayer Baron Apothecary Satchel artifact, players will receive the first main story quest for Act 1 Episode: Revenant, which will first see them making Tonic at Eid's tonic table.

Episode: Revenant's Gameplay Loop of Tonics, Fieldwork, and Onslaught: Salvation

The tutorial then guides the player through the Tonic brewing process – which involves choosing a Tonic, gathering the necessary ingredients, transferring those ingredients to the Eliksni Apparatus where the Tonic is brewed, tasted, and then infused with the power of Light to obtain the finished product. This is the process that players must go through whenever they want to create a Tonic in Episode: Revenant, so they will repeat it many times throughout the episode. Tonics are then used to give players a chance to win specific rewards Fate 2 activities and obtaining the reagents necessary to make these tonics is most easily done by playing rounds of Onslaught: Salvation.

After completing the Tonic brewing tutorial, players will be introduced to the Episode: Revenant's Fieldwork system, which is used to obtain new Tonic recipes. The Fieldwork system is basically a more advanced reward system that allows players to complete a series of objectives to earn tonic reagent pouches and tonic upgrades. Reagents are collected from each tonic reagent bag, which can then be turned in for new tonic recipes on the Eido tonic table. The more recipes that are unlocked, the higher the rarity of the recipes that will become available.

This process is repeated for all types of tonics in the episode: Revenant – Volatile Tonic, Rush Tonic, World Gear Tonic, Shadestalker Tonic, and Resource Tonic.

All of this taken into account, Onslaught: Salvation is probably where most players will spend their time, as it's the best place to farm agents, get new loot, and use Onslaught Tonics. This is the heart Fate 2 A new Episode: Revenant gameplay loop where players complete rounds of Onslaught: Salvation, perform Fieldwork, and craft and use Tonics before the cycle repeats. Things may change in Act 2 of Episode: Revenant, but this is where the game is right now.
