Diablo 4 Season 7 Class Quests Change

Key things

  • Diablo 4 Season 7 changes Class Quests to universal unlocks linked to one's account rather than individual characters.
  • New characters whose class quests the player has already completed will automatically gain access to their unlocks at the desired level.
  • Diablo 4 still aims to encourage players to keep coming back for Class Quests by offering some new, as yet unspecified rewards for doing so.

Diablo 4 Season 7 will make Class Quests a universal unlock, allowing players to skip them to new characters if they've already completed them once. This change promises execution Diablo 4 a little less crushed.

In addition to unique weapons and skills, each Diablo 4 class also has access to special abilities that must be unlocked by completing a class quest. These quests generally require reaching a certain character level, usually 15, although some also have additional prerequisites. Since the game's June 2023 release, Class Quest unlocks have been tied to characters.

Some Diablo 4 players will miss out on future content

Unfortunately, some Diablo 4 players will be missing out on future content coming to the popular action RPG.

Blizzard now intends to revise this system starting with Season 7. As revealed during the last Diablo 4 Campfire Chat live at the end of November 2024, Class Quests will start being associated with accounts, not characters, once the next season starts. The upcoming change aims to simplify the process of creating a new character. Rewards for completing class quests will remain tied to their existing level requirements. For example, new barbarians and druids will need to reach level 15 to unlock theirs, while necromancers will be able to do the same at level 25 if the player has already completed their class quest with another character.

Diablo 4 offers new class quest rewards

Even if Diablo 4 Players will no longer be forced to repeat Class Quests starting next season, they may want to do so regardless. Notably, Blizzard officials also mentioned that recurring Class Quests will soon start offering some new rewards during the latest Campfire Chat broadcast. While the specifics of this change remain unclear, more details will likely emerge as the new season approaches.

Blizzard has yet to commit to a firm release date Diablo 4 Season 7. But seeing as how Season 6 kicked off on October 8th, and assuming the developer is going to stick to its roughly three-month content cycle, it's likely that Season 7 will start around the end of January 2025. In the meantime, players will be able to try out some of the upcoming changes through Diablo 4 The Public Test Realm server starts on December 3rd. The upcoming test is scheduled to end on December 10.

The late November 2024 Campfire Chat also included the reveal of Headrotten, the next batch of seasonal enemies. These creatures drop Restless Rot, a currency that can be used to unlock new seasonal sorcery abilities. Diablo 4 Season 7 will add over 20 abilities to the game.
