Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl has many weird and scary missions that turn everything upside down with even weirder and scarier anomalies. The large Poppy Field is just one of many cases where even the lack of enemies can make for a strange and unsettling experience.

Fighting your way through a poppy field to find a root cellar is no easy task, and while asking for help costs a pretty penny, you have little choice but to go it alone, which can take quite a bit of time, leading to frustration and confusion. But once you know where to go, you can enjoy the beauty of the area without the slowly building rage!

There are many outcomes to choose from in this mission, some more unofficial than others, but ultimately the choice is yours depending on how ruthless you want to get in the wasteland!

How to run Poppy Field in Stalker 2: Heart Of Chernobyl

On arriving in Zalissya first, go to the inn where you can sleep and access your storage and find a a man named Mityay sits alone in a corner rooms. Talk to him have him mention a family heirloom this is very important to him, it allows you tell him on “Get to the point.”

From here, will talk about a religious icon, which is located in the root cellar under the Poppy Fields and it is dangerous to walk through. Touching on why, he says it's almost like if people are extremely tired once in a poppy field and finally faints and dies.

By receiving this beautiful piece of information, you will be able to take action and say: “I will find your icon,” beginning Poppy Field Mission, where you need to get to the Poppy Fields, find the root cellar and return the religious icon to Mityaya.

Make sure you have plenty of energy drinks handy before you go to the poppy fields as you will need them to replenish your stamina/energy as these fields drain your energy instantly so you pass out after a long time. Drinking an energy drink can reverse these effects. Energy drinks can be purchased from several vendors in Zalissya and can also be found in houses inside the Poppy Fields.

Make your way to the poppy field

The Poppy Field is located to west of Zalissya, so start to reach it according to the blue icon on the compass (make sure you follow this mission through your journal). will be take a while to get it but you'll know it immediately when you are come across a vast field covered with bright red poppies.

Once you reach the Poppy field, look to the right and find the house and walk over to it before exploring the field because you will get lost and probably die if you start wandering around aimlessly. For now, just walk into a lonely house and talk to Pomor once inside.

If you stay in the poppy field for too long, you will eventually lose consciousness and return your position to where you first entered. If this happens too many times, you will die instantly, regardless of how full your current health is. Drinking energy drinks can prevent this, but wandering around too much will reduce their effectiveness.

Talk to Pomor

Once inside the house, enter the room on the right find Pomor. Start talking to him find out that he lives here and apparently stumbled upon the Root Cellar you are looking for. It will offer its exact location for either 2000 credits or in exchange for your work for him.

Despite being hard to find a root cellar we initially decided decline both of his offers and find it yourself which you should consider as you can find out its exact location in the section below. After your decision, Pomor wishes you luck and sends you on your way to wander the Poppy Fields.

Where to find the root cellar in Stalker 2: Heart Of Chornobyl

They exist two houses located inside the Poppy field, with one of them is located directly opposite Pomor house. So, once you leave the front door, sprint straight sometimes drink an energy drink until you get inside. Once inside, loot the energy drinks on the ground and move to the opposite end home.

you will see another house directly opposite from here, but you I don't want to enter it. Instead, have another energy drink and run to the right of the house. Keep running to the right of both houses while remaining among them on find the entrance to the Root Celler in the ground from the poppy field.

His quite far from home as seen in the images above, and is surrounded by poppies, which is challenging to detect. However, if you stand between two houses in the center of the poppy field, you should run right into the entrance if you stay balanced!

Grab the Religious Icon From the Root Cellar

Jump down into the root cellar and fight your way inside to find Religious icon leaning against a shelf. Pick up the icon to complete this part of the mission, allowing you to do one of two things with that: Bring it back to Mityay or selling it to Pomor.

What you should do with the religious icon in Stalker 2: Heart Of Chornobyl

As mentioned above, you can either sell the religious icon to Pomeranian as an optional for The Poppy Field mission or give it back to Mityaya. This will be affect the rewards you receive upon completing the mission, which may prompt you to betray Mitya.

Finally yours elections will have consequences so take a moment think about your choice because it may lead to an outcome that you would rather not. You can learn more about both options in the sections below!

Sale of the Religious Icon to Pomor

Choice sell a religious icon to Pomor let him give you Unknown Soldier AR416, a pretty good assault rifle that will very solid early on your way. However, the weapon's durability is relatively low, that means it will need repair which can it costs a lot of money. So keep that in mind.

Next you will have to return to Zalissya and talk to Mityay. Either tell him you sold his religious icon to Pomor or lie and say you didn't find it and that he is still in the Poppy Field. Tell him you sold will be make him rightfully angry with you basically make him hate you. Lying and saying it's in the poppy field makes him go to search for it himself, which ultimately resulted in his death.

You can also sell the Religious Icon to Pomor and then kill Pomor and take the Religious Icon back to Mityaya to get a reward for it, as well as the Unknown Soldier's AR416. As far as we know, Pomor doesn't offer any other quests later in the game, so this could be a valid strategy if you want to maximize your rewards for this quest.

Returning the religious icon to Mityaya

Begin your long hike back to Zalissya and enter the bar find Mityay waiting for your return Talk to him and give him the religious icon to him to complete the poppy field side quest, will receive a bold 1000 credits for your time and effort they can upgrade weapons via Lens far!

This is probably still the morally correct choice – if that matters to you in Stalker – and you will actually seeing a religious icon placed on his family's grave, which is a nice detail. All in all, this it won't affect the game's story too much or anything substantial like this so you can sell it if you want.
