Dragon's Dogma 2's new Casual Mode has been specially designed for new and casual players who may need a break from the demanding game mechanics.
While earlier updates improved performance on PC, the October patch for Dragon's Dogma 2 includes PS5 and Xbox Series X/S players in the equation. The current update, which is already available on all platforms, adds “Prioritize Graphics” and “Prioritize Performance” options, bringing the long-awaited mode that brings higher frames per second to the game. Capcom has long promised to release updates to improve the frame rate Dragon's Dogma 2 on consoles and after many fixes, this one has finally arrived.
Along with the update, Capcom released a chart detailing the resolution and framerate each mode is targeting on different platforms. Dragon's Dogma 2 on PS5 and Xbox Series X, it works identically, offering 1728p rendering in performance mode with frame rates ranging from 50 to 60 FPS. In graphics mode, the resolution is 2160p, or 4K, with a frame rate of 30 to 40. The performance of RPGs on Steam varies depending on the hardware and player settings, but natively computers usually run Dragon's Dogma 2 with a higher frame rate than the console.
Most interestingly, the Xbox Series S outputs 4K resolution, but renders at 1440p in both modes. Not that his absence made any difference Dragon's Dogma 2sales numbers that are stronger than ever, but seeing Capcom still care about improving the game months after its release is refreshing.
These updates may be in preparation for upcoming ones Dragon's Dogma 2 DLC. Although not officially announced by Capcom, the company has conducted several surveys in the past asking players if they would be interested in the expansion. First Dragon Dogma received Dark Arisen DLC a year after release. If the second game follows the same path, players may see DLC for Dragon's Dogma 2 in the first quarter of 2025.
