Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom feels like a Pokémon game
There are over a hundred echoes to find and learn in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
To somehow resemble it Pokemon, Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom it will have to involve some form of creature collecting. While not traditional creature gathering, players can use Zelda's Tri Rod to learn the echoes of various items and creatures scattered throughout Hyrule. These echoes can then be summoned at any time to aid players in passage and combat, with items generally serving as passage echoes and creatures as combat echoes. When an echo creature is summoned, it will automatically attack all nearby enemies, giving Zelda some much needed help in battle. Since this is almost exactly what players can do with their Pokémon va Pokemon the game, the look is stunning.
There aren't just a few echoes to be found Zelda: Echoes of Wisdomhowever, its Hyrule boasts a whopping 127 echoes in the form of items and monsters for players to find. Players will quickly learn just how extensive this arsenal is as they pick up new echoes left and right within the first few hours of play. As exciting as it can be in a Pokemon game, it's exciting to learn a brand new echo Zelda: Echoes of Wisdomsimply because of the new possibilities that often open up after acquiring it. However, Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom this “collection of creatures” surpasses anything Pokemon which allowed players to collect and summon items that can aid them in their exploration.
Players can even show off their NPC echoes in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom like they can their Pokemon
One striking similarity Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom seems to share shamelessly Pokemon you can witness in several side quests obtained in the game. As players explore Hyrule, they may occasionally encounter individuals who want to see a certain echo or two for themselves, and talking to them will start a side quest. As long as players have collected the desired echo, they can summon it in front of the quest giver to either complete or continue the side quest. Some NPCs want to see different variants of the monster in which the quest is several steps away. Others, however, would rather see an object – a floating tile, for example.
It's an interesting way to encourage players to get as many echoes as possible, but
Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
is not the first game to implement such an idea.
Since release Pokemon red and Pokemon blueplayers could encounter NPCs who demand to see a certain Pokémon, thus starting a side quest. In the early games, all players had to do was have the desired Pokémon in their party and the quest would be completed and a reward given in return. With regard to Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom it does almost exactly the same thing with its echoes, it's even more similar Pokemon than just in his “creature collecting” game mechanics. Games don't have to be Pokemon to have similar properties but Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom it just seems like an attempt to pander to the creature collecting phenomenon that is now over 25 years old.
