If there's one complaint about Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, aside from the fact that it may have overstayed its welcome a bit, it's the fact that its Platinum Trophy isn't for the faint of heart.
In fact, it's particularly brutal among Platinum trophies, basically requiring perfection in every aspect of the game, which is already so long. Mind you, Naoki Hamaguchi is aware that things might have been too hard for even the most die-hard Final Fantasy players.
As first spotted by Push Square, in a new interview with Restart.Run, Hamaguchi essentially apologized for putting Final Fantasy 7 fans through such suffering. When asked if there was one thing he would like to reconsider, he immediately pointed to the Trophies.
“We prepared an incredibly diverse range of content as an open-world game for Rebirth, designing an overall game with a philosophy where players could choose what they wanted to engage in,” explained Hamaguchi. “That said, the completion condition for Trophies ended up requiring perfect completion of every element of the game, which in retrospect may be a bit of an exaggeration.
“While our intent was to expand the freedom of experience, we may have inadvertently introduced a different kind of pressure.”

Forget rebirth, the game I really want to see on the Switch 2 is Final Fantasy 15
Nintendo finally has a console powerful enough to handle some absolute classics.
Things will be different in the final installment of the trilogy
Since the Final Fantasy 7 Remake project is a trilogy, fans can expect an easier journey whenever the third installment launches. Or at least one that is pleasant.
“The final installment of the remake trilogy features an even more diverse world and game design that is packed with diverse content,” said Hamaguchi. “Accordingly, we've made extensive adjustments to the balance of trophies, putting more thought into whether earning them is enjoyable in and of itself, or whether they limit the breadth of the experience.”
According to PSNProfiles, which tracks registered users, only 12.31 percent of players have achieved the game's platinum trophy. That works out to roughly 13,511 players. “Completing all of Chadley's combat simulations,” The Silver Trophy is the rarest in the game.
All of this sounds like music to the ears of trophy hunters, so we're hoping for an easier platinum.
