Recent data mining efforts have finally revealed which Genshin Impact characters will appear on event banners in version 6.6, as the upcoming update promises to cover Pyro and Hexerei. Genshin Impact currently stands at an interesting crossroads. The Traveler's time in Nod-Krai is slowly drawing to a close, and HoYovere has had over six months to develop the region's cast and their individual playstyles, with most of the characters being either placed in Lunar Reactions or the Hexerei system. Version 6.6 is supposed to be the culmination of the latter, but not everyone is happy with the results when the dust settles.
Version 6.6 is set to introduce three Hexerei characters Genshin Impact: Nicole, Lohen and Prune. Nicole is a 5-star Pyro Catalyst with an ability set that focuses on ATK buffs, coordinated attacks, and shield sustain. Lohen is a 5-star Cryo Polearm with a dynamic playstyle that rewards pairing with sub-DPS characters like Durin or Xiangling. Prune is a 4-star Anemo Catalyst that provides strong ATK bonuses to Hexerei teammates and has special synergy with Varka. While these concepts are sound on paper, Genshin Impact players weren't too excited about the damage gap between Hexerei teams and Lunar Reaction teams.

According to Kuroo, version 6.6 will feature Nicole and Durin in the first half, while the event banners in the second half will feature Lohen and Mavuik. Curiously, this gives players a tempting weapon banner in the latter half of 6.6, as Lohen is expected to be the next Standard Banner character in Genshin Impact – meaning his signature weapon will be rare and can only be obtained via the Mondstadt Chronicled Banner in the future. Since Lohen and Prune started their drip marketing on the same day, the young witch hunter is expected to be one of the main 4 stars on Lohen and Mavuika's banner. The additional 4 stars for version 6.6 are currently unknown due to the lack of beta test run changes.
The reason why some Genshin Impact players being unhappy is deeply connected to how HoYovere approached the end in Nod-Krai. Not only are most bosses built with Lunar Reaction teams in mind, but Lunar Reaction teams generally have a higher ceiling than any other archetype in the game. Hexerei hypercarry like Varka Genshin Impact can't compare to Zibai, Flins, or Nefer at the same investment levels, and the introduction of Nicole in 6.6 didn't bridge the gap as players had hoped.
That being said, the majority Genshin Impact characters can easily clear most of the end game – only with higher difficulties locked behind certain teams, star play, or high investment. If fans enjoy a character's playstyle, whether 5-star or 4-star, that should be the primary factor in their selection. Version 6.6 features two hypercars with fun playstyles in Mavuika and Lohen and two supports in Nicole and Durin that can be incorporated into different teams.

The featured 4-star event banners will likely be revealed just days before launch, but many players are hoping that Chevreuse will appear on Mavuika.
