The new Assassination mission in Höllvania involves defeating the powerful H-09 Efervon tank in a massive battle. Still, if you're playing on Steel Path difficulty, you'll have a chance to unlock a secret version of this boss that takes this fight to another level.

How to unlock Apex Tank H-09

To unlock this fight, you must enter the Assassination mission node in Höllvania, specifically in Steel Path mode. Once there, you must continue the mission as usual until you open the first gate.

Before you open the second gate, you need to find two special PC terminals with green and purple interfacesnot the usual ones you might notice on the map showing blue colored infestations. Use the transponder to hack into them and after you win the hacking minigame in two of these terminals, Lt. Viktor Vodyanoi will panic and send you a more powerful version of the H-09 Efervon tank to meet you.

H-09 Apex Tank Combat

This fight has two phases like the normal version, but the way they play out is a bit different. During the first phase, Apex Tank H-09 will be invulnerable until you destroy the eight holes in its body, marked by a strong green glow. While you do this, the boss will launch several different attacks while Scaldry troops deploy Efervon around the arena; don't waste too much time dealing with Scaldra unless he overpowers you.

This is recommended for tank attacks keep your distance but never stop movingas melee ones can stagger you and knock you down, and long range moves can trigger a magnetic process that disables your abilities for 3 seconds, easily caught off guard if you are distracted. As with the normal version of this fight, keep moving and try to destroy the vents first the tank hit rocket launchers that some Scaldra units could drop.

After destroying the vents, you need to chip off his two health bars; these are protected under an awful lot of armor, so using armor-removing weapons is recommended; once you're done with them, you'll be prompted to destroy the tank. However, the floor will collapse and a new stage will begin.
