The old man is easily the biggest threat Burglin' Gnomes. One minute you're sneaking around looking for prey, the next he's chasing you around the house. If you get caught, things usually don't end well. He has many creative ways to deal with you and your gnome friends, but there is a way to counter him.
The taser shock knocks the old man out for a short while, but it can be tricky to find, so we've added some places where we've managed to find the taser so you can hopefully catch one in your own game and save your run!

How to get taser in Burglin' Gnomes
Taser location
Taser does not have a fixed spawn point. I found mine in a drawer in the kitchen, but I've seen other players get it from drawers in different rooms. Because of this, there is no guaranteed place to run to at the start of the match.
Your best bet is to open every drawer you can find when inspecting the house. It might take a bit of searching, but it's currently the most reliable way to find a taser. You'll know you've found the right item when you see it. The Taser is a small black device with 'ZUN' written on it. It also emits an electric buzz.
To use a taser, press E while holding it. The moment they connect, the old man falls to the floor and remains unconscious for about 10 seconds. That's usually enough time to get away, finish what you were doing, or get his weapon if he happens to be carrying one. I used it when he was charging at me and it probably saved my run!
You'll also occasionally get a quest that asks you to taste a human, rat, or roach. If a high gnome gives you this task, use the taser on the desired target to complete it, and since a human is the biggest and most visible target, feel free to turn it on!
Like a gun, a taser can be used multiple times, but not forever, so use it sparingly!
