How to get rough emeralds

While in previous updates players had to explore the Desert Caves to get the Rough Emerald, Emeralds now reside exclusively in the Lost Isles. Emeralds can be found on the Floating Islands and it can be is located in the Lost Isle Grottos.

Neither location requires players to increase their heat resistance to enter, making them a great place to go for early game gems. However, in these locations, players can face either a Golem or a Brute, so players should still be careful when exploring both.

While exploring both locations, players should keep an eye out for green emerald nodes, which are fairly common in both areas. Players just need it to get the Rough Emerald harvest emerald nodes with the rarity pickaxe or higher. Breaking these nodes gives you lots of Rough Emeralds that players can take back to their village and turn into Cut Emeralds.
