While NetherRealm Studio continues to create and release content for Mortal Kombat 1many fans became interested in the status Injustice 3. A third game in the DC fighting game franchise has yet to be confirmed, but Ed Boon has stated that it is not off the table. Given the popularity of the previous Injustice games – and the current state of the DC gaming landscape – it's unlikely that NetherRealm or Warner Brothers would give up on the series. However, Boon made it clear that continued support for Mortal Kombat 1 is the highest priority of study.
When – or if – will NetherRealm go into production Injustice 3on which the studio should build Mortal Kombat 1success. Not just in terms of gameplay or graphics, but also DLC characters. NetherRealm has become known for guest characters in its fighting games, and the two franchises that the current Mortal Kombat has crossed over with would be a perfect fit for the nihilistic superhero setting of Injustice: Invincible and Guys.
Bring Invincible and The Boys to the DC Universe
Mortal Kombat 1The first Kombat Pack included Homelander and Omni-Man as DLC additions to the game roster. Aside from both coming from Amazon Prime streaming series, the biggest similarity between the two characters is that they were each designed as twisted takes on Superman. The ultra-violent nature of their show allowed them to fit in Mortal Kombat 1bloody gameplay, but their superhero heritage could make them an interesting candidate for the next one Injustice game.
Addressing mature content from Invincible and The Boys
One could argue about that Invincible and Guys may be too mature to cross with a T-rating Injustice series but Injustice universe is already much darker than its main comic book counterpart. All NetherRealm would need to do is tone down the violence and any obscene dialogue. after all Invincible collaborated with Fortnite from all the games in the past and many more Injustice 2 players crossed their fingers that a similarly rough and violent Rorschach would appear in Fighter Pack 3.
Maturity issues aside, bringing in characters from any of these Prime series would make for some epic matches and plenty of meta-humor. It would be a full circle moment since both series were so heavily inspired by the DC universe. Homelander and Omni-Man are probably off the table Injustice 3 as NetherRealm tends to shy away from reusing guest characters – although seeing an actual Superman put both of these contenders in their place would blow fans away. If NetherRealm ever got more characters from these universes, the most likely character Injustice the game itself would be unbeatable.
The benefits of an invincible guest
If NetherRealm had stuck with the blue-yellow era of Invincible, the character wouldn't even necessarily have been toned down. This iteration of the hero has crossed paths with Spider-Man in the comics, so there's no reason why he can't do the same with DC's most popular heroes. While Invincible is already a great match for him Injustice's gameplay, would offer writers a treasure trove of dialogue options.
A pre-game chat with the likes of Green Arrow or Harley Quinn would bring some much-needed levity into Mark's life, while a tete-a-tete with Batman could see him jokingly compare the crusader-led Darkwing Invincible universe. Whether Injustice 3 continues the despotic Superman storyline or brings a more traditional version of the Man of Steel, any version of the character confronting Invincible would lead to some vulnerable conversations.
The perks of having Billy Butcher as a guest character
Although less likely, Billy Butcher z Guys it can also be a fun addition Injustice 3list. He might need some Frenchie gear or some Temp-V to compete, but his personality alone would be quite a handful for DC heroes and villains alike. Besides having a hard time believing the true intentions of the DC superheroes due to his past experiences, he would certainly berate Batman for his non-lethal methods. NetherRealm may even have easier access to Butcher's appearance and voice compared to other guest characters. In addition to NetherRealm's previous partnership with Prime, the studio already seems to have a good relationship with the Butcher actor, as Karl Urban plays Johnny Cage in the film Mortal Kombat 2 film.
