Injustice 2 featured a robust roster of characters to choose from, but there's still plenty of room for improvement. Many great DC characters could appear here Injustice 3including those introduced in comics recently or that have become popular in the past nine years. Peacemaker seems like a very safe bet, given that he appeared as a guest fighter Mortal Kombat 1. Dreamer also seems like a strong possibility, given that the hero has appeared in comics, on TV, and even as a Fortnite skin.
Fans should always temper their expectations when it comes to leaks, but mounting evidence suggests that a full announcement for Injustice 3 may happen in the future. James Gunn seemed to hint at plans Injustice 3 last year, as well as other DC projects from Rocksteady. It's entirely possible that NetherRealm Studios is working on another one Mortal Kombatbut it really seems that way Injustice 3 becomes the first. A new DC fighting game would give NetherRealm's premier fighting franchise a chance to take some time off, especially since Mortal Kombat 1 sales seemed to fall short of expectations.

With many Injustice 3 leaks and rumors that have been circulating in recent years, fans can't be blamed for being a little impatient. Between the critical and commercial flop of a DC game, there hasn't been much to celebrate over the past few years. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and the abolition of the Monolith Wonder Woman. Maybe next month LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will buck that trend and give DC fans something to enjoy while they wait for the possible Injustice news.
