I've seen enough, IO Interactive is the perfect developer for Marvel's Daredevil

007 First Light turned out to be one of the best James Bond game adaptations of all time. IO Interactive's experience with Hitman series has properly prepared the studio for this project, but what does it do 007 First Light even more satisfyingly, it enhances its action just as well as the more stealth-focused moments.

It's been a very long time since IO Interactive created something that isn't connected to Hitman series a 007 First Light was a great example of how much more potential the team working in the studio has. The Hitman the games are iconic and have given me and a lot of other gamers years of fun but 007 First Light hopefully paving the way for IO Interactive to experiment with other projects unrelated to Agent 47. It's already been confirmed that the team is working on their own original idea with Project Fantasywhich is great. However, if IO Interactive ever wants to adapt another major existing IP or character, they should really take on Daredevil.

After 007 First Light, Marvel's Daredevil feels like the perfect character for IO Interactive to bring to life

I'm a little biased when it comes to this one because I'm not just a huge James Bond fan. I fully believe that Daredevil is the most underrated Marvel character of all time. Daredevil never really got his time to shine in the gaming world and it's about time Matt Murdock got a chance to prove himself as a great main gaming protagonist. The Marvel video games have mostly focused on a handful of characters in terms of standalone characters. Multiplayer options like Marvel Rivals they featured Daredevil, but that game doesn't allow for the depth that a full adaptation would.

One game down the road could potentially open the door to a Daredevil game. Marvel's WolverineThe game puts the titular mutant in intense combat encounters, but Logan is still a pretty grounded character despite his adamantium enhancements and regenerative powers. Insomniac Games' Wolverine story looks great, but even then it's a little risky Marvel's Spider-Man. The latter's web-spinning mechanic makes traveling around the map really fast and practically turns it into its own side-activity. Wolverine can't float through the sky, so his traversal has the potential to act as a downgrade.

That's a big problem with Daredevil too. Although he has enhanced senses from his blindness and is highly skilled in martial arts, he is one of Marvel's more normal heroes. A Daredevil game would have to be really gritty and grounded. fortunately 007 First LightThe game is a beautiful reminder of how a person can be just as impressive as a character compared to someone with superpowers.

007 First Light's Action/Stealth Combo can be a fun shake up in Daredevil's World

One of Daredevil's biggest hurdles is how to adapt a character who is blind. It's probably best to keep the standard third-person design so you can see the details and surroundings of the level. Matt Murdock still has enhanced senses that make it easier to detect the world around him, so being able to see the world makes clear sense to players. However, there are two ways to play on this character trait. The first option is that players can see everything around Matt, but they can trigger a sixth sense with a feature like 007 First LightMechanic instinct. Hitman had a similar feature where Agent 47 is able to see through walls and pinpoint the location of NPCs.

007 First Light extends this mechanic even further by using it as an ultimate resource. Taking the same approach with the Daredevil video game's Instinct meter would be the best way to play against Matt's lack of vision while allowing players to see the world around him. There is one more way it could flip 007 First LightBut instinct on the head. For added challenge, the world in Daredevil can be blurry and hard to recognize (except for Matt's avatar) until an Instinct kicks in that reveals the finer details of the world around you.

007 First Light's license to kill a mechanic would make even more sense in a Daredevil game

If you're familiar with Daredevil, then you know that Matt Murdock's strict moral code means he doesn't allow himself to kill people. At least for the most part. There have been a few times in the Daredevil comic series where Matt had no choice but to kill someone, or it happened by accident. IO Interactive's Daredevil game could help with this by overhauling the License to Kill feature. Matt Murdock can only get permission to take an NPC's life if they are a threat to someone else. This would still be consistent with Matt's strong belief system. However, it would open the door to the fascinating moral questions and inner turmoil he would face as a character, making for a more compelling story.

Daredevil has a lot of potential after launch

Even though the game is not even a month old, IO Interactive has already announced the first one 007 First Light DLC. It introduces a brand new mission for Bawma and is the first step towards expanding the game's post-launch life. This hypothetical Daredevil game I came up with would be a perfect candidate for the same formula. Granted, most superhero games would be, as every hero has their long list of villains. However, Daredevil's enemies would be the best candidates for slow introductions instead of pumping up the antagonist's story like Marvel's Spider-Man series. Matt Murdock's story is darker and more layered, so villain-centric expansions would allow these characters to have deeper chapters entirely dedicated to their individual stories.

As far as anyone knows, a Daredevil game isn't in development at any major studio, while IO Interactive is more than likely hard at work. Project Fantasy and possibly brainstorming ideas for a 007 First Light continuation. That's exciting enough on its own, but if Bond's development team ever wanted to find another character to dive into, Daredevil feels like the perfect choice.
