Each crew member aboard the Cassiopeia wears a wristband that allows them to interact with the ship's various functions, including the doors. Carter was wearing his bracelet before he was captured by Simms, and Cooper has a chance to find it while searching for Simms on the ship during episode 3. How to find Carter's Utility Strap in Directive 8020 (Lost and Found)
Players can find Carter's Utility Strap in Directive 8020 during “Search” story node in Chapter 3right after Cooper and Anders go through the cafeteria with the Power Cell.
After you leave the diner, a cutscene will play showing Cooper and Anders beeps can be heard nearby. The sound actually comes from behind the shutters, under the Cassiopeia sign.
Go down the stairs and work with the destroyed shutters so Cooper can move them out of the wayclearing the way ahead. Go into the small room and you'll have to swing across the gap to the other side.
After clearing the gap, turn left and you will find Carter's Utility Strap fits on the box. Once you pick it up, it will unlock the Lost and Found trophy Directive 8020. The Utility Strap can only play two possible tracks, depending on your selection.
