With arrival Marvel Rivals In Season 1, players have several new heroes to try out in the roster, along with several buffs and nerfs to help keep the meta evolving and competitive. However, there are still some characters that were forgotten in the recent patch notes or maybe didn't get the buffs they deserved.

The 12 Best Duelists in Marvel Rivals, Ranked
These Duelists stand out from the rest as the best heroes in Marvel Rivals to ensure that players always dominate the competition.
There are a lot of heroes out there Marvel Rivals that might do with a buff or two. Whether it's their damage kit, health pool, or even the way their Ultimate works, every hero in it Marvel Rivals it has the potential for excellence that could be made a little easier with a few tweaks here and there.

Black Widow
A sniper who can't do much on her own

An enemy sniper can make a big difference as he perfectly picks off Duelists and Strategists, one by one. Having Black Widow, who has incredible accuracy and a penchant for headshots, will be quite the target to dash away from the heroes to avoid instant death. Still, Black Widow doesn't really get the legendary assassin status she deserves.
Once players get too close to Black Widow, the Black Widow in question is essentially dead, as most of her moves do not favor her at close range. Even with her sniper rifle, Black Widow's headshot speed and accuracy is quite low and inconsistent, making her a character that needs more close-range utility and a less punishing long-range kit.

Mr. Fantastic
Bouncy and flexible, but not for soloing

Mister Fantastic can often be misused when it comes to competitive play, and most will run in as this stretch hero in an attempt to negate all damage and destroy the enemy team. Still, that's not really what Mister Fantastic is about, and most players will struggle to get some effective damage with his abilities.

Marvel Rivals: 8 heroes who need stronger ultimates
While some of the best heroes in Marvel Rivals can change the fabric of the game with their ultimates, these heroes are a bit clunky.
Mister Fantastic is a special case for a Duelist, as he can deal enough damage to essentially become a Vanguard, or charge at allies to protect them and essentially become a Strategist. However, despite a diverse toolkit, it's not the most effective in terms of damage, so a few buffs might be in order, although it can effectively negate enemy Ultimates entirely.

Poison
A giant symbiote that looks more like a spherical mushroom than anything else
Role |
Vanguard |
Health |
650 |
Difficulty |
1/5 |
Venom's attacks and abilities can certainly be a threat, especially when he swings into the back lines and causes trouble with his attacks and large pool of health. Still, Venom's toolkit seems more geared towards distracting players and giving them damage for their Ultimate with her shield ability than it should, and most Venom players aren't going to max out their eliminations.
Venom is a support Vanguard that has tons of health, but his ultimate lacks any real sense of damage scaling to punish the enemy team. Even with his tendril attacks, Venom won't stomp the enemy team or even destroy their strategists because his damage is a bit slow and low.
3
Rocket Raccoon
Focusing on healing and nothing else really
Role |
Strategist |
Health |
250 |
Difficulty |
1/5 |
Rocket Raccoon is one of the best strategists Marvel Rivalsbut that's really only because his kit doesn't allow him to do anything else. Rocket can revive allies, provide shields, jumps, and effectively throw swinging healing balls. However, Rocket's damage output will not be better than his healing, nor is it easy to switch between damage/healing.

Marvel Rivals: Every Strategist, Ranked
Strategists are essential to your team composition in Marvel Rivals thanks to their ability to heal allies and deal lethal damage, but who are your must-haves?
Rocket also suffers somewhat with his Ultimate which provides a 40% damage buff but with such a short range. Rocket has so much potential, but being one of the few strategists who can't heal and attack at the same time puts him in a weird spot where he could do with a buff or two, although it's nice that his small size makes him harder to hit.
2
Magneto
Master of Magnetism is too defensive
Role |
Vanguard |
Health |
650 |
Difficulty |
2/5 |
Magneto is perhaps one of the most underutilized Vanguards of all, and there are good reasons for that. Magneto can't fly, which leaves him in a very vulnerable and slow state in terms of his mobility, and his slow fall doesn't really help him. Aside from his weak attacks, his defenses, which are mostly his skills, can be negated fairly easily.
Using a metal curtain doesn't last as long, nor does it have a lot of health, and using iron and metal barriers doesn't have the best duration either. While Magneto gets his powers back fairly quickly thanks to the generous cooldown, they won't be the shields the team needs to push through when Vanguards like Doctor Strange are a much better option.
1
Black Panther
A fast duelist with limited damage
Role |
Duelist |
Health |
300 |
Difficulty |
4/5 |
Duelists are always hard to balance because their toolkit is meant to deal lethal but fair damage. With so many duelists Marvel Rivalssome players may have their own opinion on who should be nerfed or buffed, but Black Panther definitely deserves a buff to his damage since his primary Vibranium Claws only do around 35 damage per hit. This isn't great for melee focused fights, especially when Black Panther needs to get up close and personal.
Black Panther really cements himself as a skill pick is in his isolation, as his agility and Panther's Cunning mean he has a 20% damage buff when below 100 health, making him great for one-on-one battles. However, the stunning Ultimate and Vibranium Marks, which only offer slightly reduced cooldowns on his abilities, put Black Panther in a special place with other melees.
