Marvel Rivals is getting a PvE Zombies Mode on October 23rd

Out of the blue, Marvel Rivals has announced a new PvE mode. Based on the recently released Marvel Zombies animated series, this mode pits Blade, Magik, Punisher, Thor and Jeff against hordes of the undead and eventually zombie bosses. Each of the five also gets special abilities to deal with the undead.

Launching on October 23rd, this mode will give Marvel Rivals the PvE mode that many fans have been asking for since launch. It's a collaboration with the Marvel Animation team to increase the game's player base as well as promote the Disney+ series. Not much is known about this mode yet.

Marvel Rivals PvE Mode Announced

Thor battles a horde of zombies in PvE mode from Marvel Rivals.

This new mode was announced just a few minutes ago by Marvel Games Executive Producer Danny Koo and Marvel Head of Streaming, Television and Animation Brad Winderbaum. As mentioned by Koo, each of the heroes will have special abilities, such as Blade with bouncing Moon Blades, Thor with a permanent awakening state, and Magik's Darkchild mode will be unlimited.

As you make your way through the unlimited horde, you'll eventually have to contend with Zombie Namor and Queen of the Dead Scarlet Witch. While it's unclear how these boss fights will work, it's clear that players will have to work together to save the entire planet from the infection.

The Marvel Zombies PvE mode launches next week, and more characters may be added to the roster. Not to mention new skins, rewards and zombie baddies to deal with. While we only saw zombie grunts in the trailer, we could get stronger enemies once it launches.

It's unclear if the mode will be included in the show, as Thor and Blade have already featured in it. This PvE mode will likely see a horde of players return as hero shooter fans still feel burned by how Overwatch 2 handled its promised PvE mode.
