Marvel Rivals fans were delighted to see that NetEase is going all out to make Season 9 special for the community as it is set to be packed with content. A new map based on the Apocalypse realm will be released a few weeks after the start of the season, with Strategist Jubilee coming on day one and (presumably) Vanguard The Hood mid-season. That's just the tip of the iceberg though, as new mechanics like health regen are being introduced, the team system is being overhauled, and Black Widow's long-awaited overhaul will make her play more like Ashe from Overwatch. That's not the only similarity Season 9's content has with the biggest name in the hero shooter genre, though, as one battle pass skin looks eerily familiar.
Marvel RivalsThe latest battle pass is loaded with Egyptian skins that coincide with the season map and the engagement of En Sabah Nur. Deadpool gets a fun mummy while Mantis and Rocket don some matching jewelry and clothes. Iron Man looks especially cool as a metallic gold pharaoh. However, not every skin in the walkthrough sticks to the theme; for example, there's a cool Venom plant look with a look-alike face Stranger ThingsDemogorgon more than anything typically associated with Egypt. Still, it's ultimately Ultron who steals the show with his Ultron-15 look, a design that gives the machine a cowboy outfit complete with hat and duster. And at first glance, this design looks the same Overwatch's the most awaited hero of 2026.
Overwatch's Mysterious Omnic Support has had players talking for months

When Overwatch revealed the silhouettes of its 2026 heroes, a few things immediately jumped out at players. First, players were excited to have another member of the MEKA Squad join the tank roster, with D.Mon seemingly set to be added in Season 4. Second, fans only loved the outline of the Support hero from Season 5 (or 6) as it seemingly depicts an Omnic detective with a wand, hat, and jacket. Shown behind the hero who has become Sierra, this figure immediately stands out from their surroundings. Overwatch fans are always clamoring for more Omnic characters to be added, so the idea of one with such a distinct aesthetic is really icing on the cake.

Sure, there's a chance this hero isn't what players expect; many probably imagine something similar Fallout 4'is Nick Valentine, but there's no telling what kind of personality this sentient robot will have. Silhouettes cannot tell the whole story; OverwatchShion had one of the most striking silhouettes of the 2026 group, yet her character design is absolutely brilliant and fans quickly fell in love with the character. Regardless of how the hero turns out, players are excited about him, drawing concepts for this Omnik and regularly sharing how they can't wait until the end of the year to see him in action. Marvel Rivals throwing its resident robot character into a flashy hat and coat, then it almost seems like a case of NetEase seeing the hype and giving fans of their competition similar-looking cosmetics to use much sooner.
The new Ultron Skin from Marvel Rivals is not an original idea like the upcoming Omnic Overwatch
Although it is certainly possible that Ultron-15 is added for the sake of OverwatchSecret Omnic is so anticipated that this skin will probably always end up in Marvel Rivals at some point. After all, it's one of Ultron's most memorable comic book designs, while being as interesting as it is strange. Presented as part of Ultron Unlimited arc, this version of the character suffers from human emotions that he numbs with alcohol. And while creator Hank Pym could be credited for making this particular version of Ultron more human, the actual action suggests that the genius scientist went through a cowboy/detective fashion phase, as the drunken and mentally broken Ultron-15 is also dressed like he belongs in the Wild West.
Ultimately, though Ultron-15 comes to a Marvel Rivals A battle pass or in-game store was inevitable because the look is so different that the timing is definitely advantageous for NetEase. If OverwatchSupport players are tired of waiting for a new hero in a role of their choosing – they'll make it through the rest of Season 3 and all of Season 4 before Support debuts – Ultron takes on a look reminiscent of their most anticipated Overwatch a hero could be just the motivation they need to change the games a bit. And if they do, Season 9's plethora of content could engage and help them Marvel Rivals the community is still growing.
